Viewing and changing transactions

You can view or change scheduled transactions at any time.

Pending transactions

Click Search transactions in the right-hand menu, and then Scheduled, to view your scheduled transactions and most of the preauthorized transactions made by your caisse (except withdrawals and direct deposits).

Scheduled transactions are also available under the Calendar icon in the right-hand menu.

Processing of scheduled transactions

  • Scheduled Interac e-TransfersTM are processed 7 days a week, at 6:30 a.m.
  • Upcoming transfers are processed in the evening
  • Bill payments are generally processed in the evening, except for Fridays and Saturdays when they are processed in the afternoon.
  • In general, upcoming transfers and bill payments are completed on the day you choose. However, some conditions apply. The following table lists the processing schedule for transactions:

Immediate transfers

Your account will be debited immediately.

However, transactions may not be processed on the same day if made after 9:30 p.m. or on a weekend:

Scheduled transfers

Set up your transfers to be made at a later date or on a regular basis.

To transfer funds from one account to another, click Transfers in the right-hand menu, Transfers between accounts and then the Later tab.

Frequency

  1. Select a frequency:
    • occasional
    • daily
    • weekly
    • every 2 weeks
    • semi-monthly (the 15th and 30th of every month)
    • monthly
    • quarterly
    • semi-annually
    • annually
  2. Indicate:
    • how many times the transfers should occur
    • the date of the first transfer

Save, change or delete your transfers at least 2 days before they are scheduled to be made. Recurring transfers must be for the same amount.

Use this feature to:

  • transfer money to the account of another Desjardins member or Visa Desjardins cardholder
  • receive money from another Desjardins member in complete security
  • pay money you owe another individual (for your share of a group gift or reservation, etc.)
  • pay for occasional services (e.g., plumber, electrician, etc.)
  • pay for recurring expenses (e.g., rent and child care fees)
  • help out a parent, friend or child studying away from home
  • get paid back

Several ways to make transfers

Make transfers online on AccèsD and at Desjardins ATMs

Maximum daily amount

You can transfer money up to your daily money transfer limit (folios and credit cards included) every day.

The money transfer limit is the maximum amount of transfers that can be done in a single day to other Desjardins members. The default daily money transfer limit is $5,000 for members age 18 and up, and $1,000 for minors. Your caisse may review your limit if you are a minor.

Note: Money transfers from a Desjardins credit card may not exceed $1,000 in 24 hours.

Flexibility

Transactions can be carried out immediately or scheduled to take place at a later date, just once or on a recurring basis.

Cost

The same fees apply as those charged for transfers between accounts. No charge for recipients of money transfers.

How it works

Create your list of recipients

Get the information required from each recipient you want to add to your list. Or obtain from the information from a specimen cheque marked "VOID". All the information required is on the cheque. Log on to AccèsD to enter the information.

  • If you use AccèsD and the ATM

    To have your list of money transfer recipients displayed at the ATM, log on to AccèsD and click on:

    • Profile and preferences in the right-hand menu
    • Manage ATM access under “in the Manage access section.
  • If you use only the ATM

    Contact an advisor at 1-800-CAISSES (1-800-224-7737) or 514-CAISSES (514-224-7737) for the Montreal area, or visit your caisse.

Once you've made your list of recipients, you can transfer funds to their account instantly:

  • on AccèsD: from Transfers in the right-hand menu, select Money transfers
  • at the ATM: click Transfer and then Money transfers

Exchange rates are updated live between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. on business days.

When the markets are closed (before 8 a.m. and after 4:30 p.m. on business days and on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays), the exchange rate applied to an inter-currency transfer may be adjusted upwards or downwards by Fédération des caisses Desjardins du Québec once the markets open.

Scheduled transactions

Because exchange rates cannot be guaranteed in advance, transfers cannot be scheduled to take place at a later date.

Cost

The same fees apply as those charged for transfers between accounts. Fees are debited from the source account.

No fees are debited from the account receiving the funds.

The inter-Caisse limit is the maximum amount you can transfer per day to a Desjardins caisse other than the one where you have your account. The default inter-Caisse limit usually assigned to all personal folios is $1,000 per day. Your caisse may increase or decrease the limit (to a maximum of $2,500).
