Set up transactions in advance to take place just once or on a recurring basis, at the frequency and on the dates you choose.

Viewing and changing transactions

You can view or change scheduled transactions at any time.

Pending transactions

Click Search transactions in the right-hand menu, and then Scheduled, to view your scheduled transactions and most of the preauthorized transactions made by your caisse (except withdrawals and direct deposits).

Scheduled transactions are also available under the Calendar icon in the right-hand menu.

Processing of scheduled transactions

  • Scheduled Interac e-TransfersTM are processed 7 days a week, at 6:30 a.m.
  • Upcoming transfers are processed in the evening
  • Bill payments are generally processed in the evening, except for Fridays and Saturdays when they are processed in the afternoon.
  • In general, upcoming transfers and bill payments are completed on the day you choose. However, some conditions apply. The following table lists the processing schedule for transactions:

Your account will be debited immediately.

However, transactions may not be processed on the same day if made after 9:30 p.m. or on a weekend:

Scheduled transfers

Set up your transfers to be made at a later date or on a regular basis.

To transfer funds from one account to another, click Transfers in the right-hand menu, Transfers between accounts and then the Later tab.

Frequency

  1. Select a frequency:
    • occasional
    • daily
    • weekly
    • every 2 weeks
    • semi-monthly (the 15th and 30th of every month)
    • monthly
    • quarterly
    • semi-annually
    • annually
  2. Indicate:
    • how many times the transfers should occur
    • the date of the first transfer

Save, change or delete your transfers at least 2 days before they are scheduled to be made. Recurring transfers must be for the same amount.

  • pay money you owe another individual (for your share of a group gift or reservation, etc.)

How it works

Create your list of recipients

Get the information required from each recipient you want to add to your list. Or obtain from the information from a specimen cheque marked "VOID". All the information required is on the cheque. Log on to AccèsD to enter the information.

  • If you use AccèsD and the ATM

    To have your list of money transfer recipients displayed at the ATM, log on to AccèsD and click on:

    • Profile and preferences in the right-hand menu
    • Manage ATM access under “in the Manage access section.
  • If you use only the ATM

    Contact an advisor at 1-800-CAISSES (1-800-224-7737) or 514-CAISSES (514-224-7737) for the Montreal area, or visit your caisse.

Once you've made your list of recipients, you can transfer funds to their account instantly2:

  • on AccèsD: from Transfers in the right-hand menu, select Money transfers
  • at the ATM: click Transfer and then Money transfers

When the markets are closed (before 8 a.m. and after 4:30 p.m. on business days and on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays), the exchange rate applied to an inter-currency transfer may be adjusted upwards or downwards by Caisse centrale Desjardins once the markets open.

Scheduled transactions

Because exchange rates cannot be guaranteed in advance, transfers cannot be scheduled to take place at a later date.

Cost

The same fees apply as those charged for transfers between accounts. Fees are debited from the source account.

Discover the fast, secure way to send money to someone with an account at a different Canadian financial institution. With Interac e-Transfer available on AccèsD Internet and mobile, you can now transfer money by text or email anytime you want. Sound simple enough?

Transfer money for just about anything

Use Interac e-Transfer to contribute to a group gift, pay your share of a cottage rental or pay someone back for picking up that concert ticket.

All the recipient needs is a bank account in Canada and an email address or mobile phone number3.

How it works

Virement Interac

To make an Interac e-Transfer, you must be registered for AccèsD and know the email address or mobile phone number of the person to whom you want to transfer funds4.

Recipients receive an e-mail or text message notifying them that the funds can be deposited to their bank account.

You receive an email or text message confirming that the funds have been deposited to their bank account5.

Log on to AccèsD and follow these steps to make an Interac e-Transfer:

Create your profile

Click on the Transfers button, then select Interac transfers. Click on the Create my profile button.

Add a recipient

After you’ve created your profile, click on the Add a recipient button under the Make a transfer tab.

From the Make a transfer tab, follow the instructions to make an Interac e-Transfer.

Transfers can be made to most countries (e.g. United States, Mexico, France, Belgium, United Kingdom, Italy) thanks to the Desjardins International Service Centre's worldwide network of correspondents.

There is a transfer limit set for your account, but the system also factors in the limit set by the destination country as well as a security limit determined by Desjardins. The lowest of the 3 limits is displayed on AccèsD by clicking Transfers and selecting International money transfers, and the Make a transfer tab.

Exchange rate

Current market exchange rate

Exchange rates are current between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. on business days.

When the markets are closed (before 8 a.m. and after 4:30 p.m. on business days and on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays), Desjardins Group's Treasury increases the spread between the current buying and selling rates. The spread is readjusted once the markets open.

Cost

  • Fees vary based on the destination country and the type of transfer.
  • Free for transfers made by direct deposit into a Desjardins Bank account. You must select United States – Desjardins Bank in Florida as the destination.

From 1 to 4 business days, based on the transfer type used.

How it works

Activate the international money transfer feature

You must go to your caisse to add a money transfer limit to your account.

Create your list of recipients

Log on to AccèsD, then click on:

  • Transfers in the right-hand menu
  • International money transfers
  • the Manage list of recipients tab

Have the following information on hand:

  • address of the recipient you want to add
  • bank routing information for the recipient's financial institution
  • address of the branch to which you want to send the funds

You will be able to make a transfer to your recipient's account 48 hours after adding them to your list.

Make a transfer

Simply select the recipient from the list of recipients you have already added and select the type of transfer based on the destination country.

Information required for international money transfers

To make an international money transfer to a financial institution in the U.S., Europe or Mexico, you'll be required to provide some banking information. Following is the information that may be requested by each country.

U.S.
ABA routing number for direct deposits

9-digit number for ACH (Automated Clearing House) transfers.

Note: Some banks use this number for both direct deposits and money transfers.

Note: Banks usually have a different routing number for direct deposits and transfers. In some cases, however, the numbers may be one and the same.

European Union countries and other countries
IBAN no.

The number of characters in each IBAN number varies from one country to another. However, it never exceeds 34 characters. Here are 2 examples:

France: FR14 2004 1010 0505 0001 3 M02 606

Belgium: BE62 5100 0754 7061

IBAN is currently used in the 27 European Union countries as well as Andorra, Croatia, Gibraltar, Greenland, the Faeroe Islands, Iceland, Turkey, Liechtenstein, Macedonia, Monaco, Norway, Romania, San Marino, Serbia-Montenegro, Switzerland and Tunisia as well as the French Overseas Departments Guadeloupe, French Guyana, Martinique and Réunion Island.

The number often appears on bank statements and invoices of companies and individuals residing in participating countries. Enter the IBAN number under International money transfers - Manage list of recipients.

Mexico
CLABE 18-digit number. The first 3 digits identify the bank, the next 3 digits identify the branch and the last 11 digits indicate the account number plus the check digit. Enter the CLABE under International money transfers - Manage list of recipients.

  1. The inter-Caisses limit is the maximum amount you can transfer per day to a Desjardins caisse other than the one in which you have your account. The inter-Caisses limit usually awarded by default to all individual folios is $1,000 per day. Your caisse can elect to increase or decrease the limit (to a maximum of $2,500).
  2. For security reasons, a 48-hour delay is required from the time you add a new recipient to your list to the time the transfer is completed. Subsequent transfers will be completed immediately.
  3. Transfers must be in Canadian currency.
  4. This information is used only to notify the recipient that a transfer has been made. Recipients must be a member of a participating financial institution and have secure online access to their accounts on that financial institution's website.
  5. Funds not deposited by recipients within 30 days will be returned to you.
  6. Interac fees of $1 are not refundable. If you have a plan and do not exceed the number of monthly transactions allowed, no additional fees will apply.
