Modernizing our credit card management system

We're modernizing our credit card management system to better meet your needs. Here's an overview of the changes you can expect and next steps.

Why we’re modernizing our credit card management system

Simplify your experience

Our new system will provide a better experience while rolling out several do-it-yourself features over the next few years. These include being able to dispute a transaction by using our mobile and online services or adding a card to your digital wallet in case of loss or theft, without having to wait for your physical card to arrive.

It’ll also be easier to fill out certain forms as information will be pre-entered. You’ll also be able to save your request and complete it later.

Meet your needs

After listening to your feedback, we’re maintaining the status of current joint cardholders. Nothing will change for current joint cardholders unless they wish to make adjustments.

Over the past few months, we’ve consulted our cardholders to better understand their expectations and concerns. We’ve based our improvements on their feedback, and we’re supporting them as needed–before, during and after the modernization of our system.

Improve performance

We’re modernizing our system so we can upgrade our solutions, remain relevant and ensure long-term performance.

Maintenance period in October 2026

To ensure that our new system runs as designed, a maintenance period will be required in October.

What to expect during the maintenance period

You can continue to use your credit card as usual for transactions and payments. Fraud detection and prevention mechanisms will remain active.

However, certain card management features may be limited or unavailable during this period, such as increasing your credit limit, changing your PIN or redeeming BONUSDOLLARS®.

We’ll make sure you get the information you need throughout the process. We’ll never contact you to ask for personal information as part of the modernization process.

To avoid hiccups, we suggest that you carry out any important card management tasks before this period, such as changing your address, increasing your credit limit or replacing your card.

If you need help, contact us at 514-878-2973 Phone number of customer service for the credit card management modernization system for the Montreal area. We're here to support you during the process.

Improvements for individuals

Throughout October 2026, certain improvements will be made to Accord D financing and other features and products related to credit cards for individuals. Learn about these changes so you can continue to manage your account without disruption.

Joint cardholder option remains, plus other cardholder options

To continue to meet your needs, we’ve ensured that joint cardholders can keep their joint accounts.

We’re also offering other credit card account options, with different roles for each cardholder.

Options for credit card accounts

As we modernize our credit card system, compare the different ways you can have a credit card account and their associated roles and actions.

Roles
  • Primary cardholder
  • Joint cardholder
  • Authorized user

To simplify matters, we use the term cardholder to designate both primary and joint cardholders. All cardholders on a credit card account are responsible for the entire debt and management of the account.

Questions about joint credit card accounts?

See our FAQ on joint accounts for more information.

Improved experience when redeeming BONUSDOLLARS

  • Your BONUSDOLLARS balance will be updated in real time when you redeem online. You can see your updated balance immediately after you redeem.
  • You can apply your BONUSDOLLARS to several purchases in one transaction.
  • Note that due to the system change, the BONUSDOLLARS information you see on your next statement may not be entirely up to date, though your rewards balance will remain accurate.

Simplified experience when applying for a credit card

  • A new way to start or easily continue your credit card application online or on the phone with an advisor.
  • Quick response on your eligibility and credit limit amount, except in cases where further analysis is needed.
  • Self-service dashboard so you can see the status of your request and track it in real time.
  • Notifications throughout the process to inform you of the necessary steps to take.
  • Instant notifications in the event of credit bureau freezes (if you’ve turned on this feature).
  • Ability to see reasons for refusal online if applicable, to help you understand our decision.

Accord D financing

Our updated credit card management system will bring changes to how you manage your Accord D financing.

After the modernization process, your Accord D financing will appear in the Cards, loans and credit section in your Account Summary (in the Desjardins mobile services app) or on the AccèsD home page.

Converting your Accord D financing into a personal loan

By converting your Accord D financing into a personal loan, you’ll find it easier to manage your account. You may also get a better rate1, pay less interest and reduce the total cost of your financing.

To be eligible for this rate on your current financing:

  • Your balance must be at least $1,000
  • Your remaining term must be at least 12 months

You also need to be a Desjardins member.

If you’re eligible, the rate will be offered to you in our mobile and online services.

You can convert your financing using our mobile and online services or with the help of an advisor.

Viewing your Accord D monthly installment

Your Accord D monthly installment will no longer appear in your credit card balance. To see what you need to pay, check your statement. You’ll find your payment amounts included under Amount due this month and Minimum payment due. The minimum payment due that appears in our mobile and online services also includes your Accord D monthly installment.

Accord D monthly installment payments and prepayments

  • Payment of your Accord D monthly installments and any prepayments will go through your credit card account instead of directly toward your Accord D financing plan.
  • When you pay your monthly installment or make a prepayment toward your Accord D financing, the amount is temporarily credited to your card, then transferred to your financing plan within 24 to 72 hours.
  • When you make a prepayment, the way your payment is allocated depends on your total credit card balance and the order in which payments are applied. If you want to customize how your payment is allocated, contact us.
  • Since Accord D financing payments now go through your credit card, your pre-scheduled payments may not work anymore. If this happens, we’ll let you know and you can contact us to discuss your options.

New account statement

We’re redesigning your account statement to make your financial information easier to read and understand.

A cleaner look

  • Easily spot your amount due and minimum payment due.
  • Find important information all in the same place.
  • View your statement in a simpler layout.

More details, better monitoring

  • See all account transactions in one place.

Changes to Credit Balance Insurance

If you have Credit Balance Insurance, here are some changes we’re making to your agreement:

  • The benefit payable will be calculated based on the account balance the day before the eligible event instead of on the latest statement balance.
  • In the case of a covered event, transactions starting the day of the event and authorized unposted transactions from the day before aren’t covered.
  • Outstanding amounts and interest are now included in the benefit payable.

New AccèsD Affaires experience

2 min 44 s

As part of the modernization of Desjardins’ Credit Card management system, AccèsD Affaires is evolving to better reflect how your accounts and cards are structured, making it easier to access the key information you need to manage them.

Let’s take a look at what’s changing.

Right from the home page, your credit card accounts are displayed more clearly, giving you a view that reflects how they’re actually organized.

Cards are grouped under their main account, while the Business Freedom Solutions line of credit appears as a separate product.

This makes it easier to find your different products and quickly access the information you need.

The information displayed for your accounts has also been redesigned to give you a clearer picture of your credit information.

Your main account balance now includes the balances of all linked cards, so you get a complete picture of your account in one place.

Your available credit always reflects the amount you can actually use for new purchases.

So you always have a clear view of where you stand.

Credit card account details now follow the same layout as your other AccèsD Affaires accounts.

Whether you’re viewing a chequing account or a credit account, you’ll recognize the same familiar navigation and visual cues.

Your balance, available credit, account information and latest statement due date are all easy to find.

Good news! You can now personalize your account descriptions to make your accounts easier to identify.

Reviewing transactions is now simpler and more flexible.

All your account transactions are together in one place.

View every transaction or focus on a single card. Filter by date or transaction type, then download up to three months of transaction history directly from your account details.

Everything is organized to help you find the information you need, faster.

Statements are now available right from your account details.

You’ll find your balance due, the details of your latest statement and all your online statements. You can also view or download them individually or in batches.

You can also enroll in online statements directly from the same screen.

If you have a Business Freedom Solutions package, you’ll now receive two separate statements: one for your card account and one for your line of credit, each with its own account number.

This reflects the way your products are now organized and makes each one easier to manage.

Centralized payments, limit management and account structure

As part of our modernization efforts, we’ve reimagined the way you manage your business credit cards. Our new account structure brings all your business’s cards together under a single primary account.
Centralized payments, limit management and account structure

3 min 06 s

Desjardins is modernizing its credit card management system.

At the heart of this change is a new account structure that reimagines the way you manage your business credit cards.

Your company’s cards are grouped under a single primary credit card account.

Here’s what that means for your business.

You’ll still pay using the Transfer Between Accounts and Bill Payment feature.

The difference? One payment made to your primary account now covers all the cards linked to it.

That means fewer payments to make and simpler day-to-day account management.

Credit limits are managed a little differently under this new account structure.

The good news is that your existing card credit limits stay the same when you migrate.

Your business has one overall credit limit linked to the primary account, while each card keeps its own credit limit, which now serves as its spending limit.

Each transaction will be authorized up to the cardholder’s spending limit, provided that sufficient credit is available on the primary account.

This gives you better control over spending, both for individual cards and across your business.

Keep in mind that card spending limits are updated with each billing cycle. They can also be adjusted as your business needs change, without applying for additional credit. However, it’s important to ensure that your primary account’s overall credit limit continues to meet your business’s needs.

From now on, all payments are applied to your primary account, where your outstanding balance is managed.

If you make a payment directly to your primary account, it will be reflected as soon as it’s received.

If you make a payment on an individual card instead, it’s automatically transferred to your primary account. That transfer can take up to 48 hours to appear.

Similarly, if you previously had pre-authorized payments set up on individual cards, they’ll now be processed through your primary account. As a result, only one payment will be withdrawn.

No action is required on your part.

Finally, if your business has a Business Freedom Solutions package, there are a few additional changes to be aware of.

You’ll receive a new primary credit card account number, and all of your existing cards will be linked to it.

Your card numbers and line of credit number remain the same. Your existing pre-authorized transactions will continue without any action required on your part. There’s no need to notify your suppliers.

Going forward, you’ll make two separate payments: one for your primary credit card account and one for your Business Freedom Solutions line of credit.

If you’re currently enrolled in pre-authorized payments for both your line of credit and your credit cards, those payments will automatically be updated to reflect this new account structure.

Two separate pre-authorized payments will now be processed: one for your primary credit card account and one for your line of credit. No action is required on your part.

Full details are available on your statements.

Business Credit Card Management: Understanding the platform

3 min 46 s

Desjardins is modernizing its credit card management system to give you a simpler, more powerful platform that’s built to grow with your business.

Accessible directly through AccèsD Affaires, Business Credit Card Management gives you everything you need to manage your business credit cards in one convenient location, including card management, user management, transactions, credit limits, reporting and governance tools.

One platform to simplify card management, give you more independence and help you stay in control of your spending.

Here’s what you can do with it.

With Business Credit Card Management and its new self-serve features, you can now manage your credit cards even more effectively, on your own and whenever it works best for you.

Add or replace a card, temporarily suspend or reactivate it, adjust credit limits and manage user access, all from within the platform.

You’ll save time, reduce delays and enjoy greater day-to-day autonomy.

Staying in control of business spending is easier with the platform’s built-in controls.

Set customized credit limits, apply merchant category restrictions and control when cards can be used by day and time.

These controls are applied in real time, giving you the flexibility to decide where, when and how each card can be used based on your business needs.

That means every card can be configured to match the way your business operates.

Find all your transactions in one place, whether they’ve already been posted or are still pending.

Add receipts, document your expenses with comments and split purchases across your different cards, all directly within the platform.

You’ll always have a clear, complete and up-to-date view of your business spending, making reconciliation and expense tracking easier.

Built-in reports make your business data easier to understand and put to use.

Quickly review spending by employee, merchant or category, identify inactive cards, monitor past-due accounts, or get an overall view of your spending.

This makes it easier to spot key trends and make more informed decisions.

For complete traceability, every important action is automatically recorded in an audit log.

Each user only has access to the cards and information they need.

If your company has multiple teams, services or regions, the hierarchy option can help you manage each user’s access and responsibilities.

Assign each user the role that’s right for them.

The Primary Administrator has a complete view of the platform. Managers oversee only the cards and users within their area of responsibility. Delegates have their own workspace where they can review transactions, attach receipts or request a replacement card.

The result is a governance model that’s flexible, secure and designed to fit the way your business operates.

You’ll receive support even before you first log in to the platform.

Once the platform becomes available to your company, the Primary AccèsD Affaires Administrator will be the first to gain access, so they can configure roles and access for other users.
