Modernizing our credit card management system
We're modernizing our credit card management system to better meet your needs. Here's an overview of the changes you can expect and next steps.
Why we’re modernizing our credit card management system
Simplify your experience
Our new system will provide a better experience while rolling out several do-it-yourself features over the next few years. These include being able to dispute a transaction by using our mobile and online services or adding a card to your digital wallet in case of loss or theft, without having to wait for your physical card to arrive.
It’ll also be easier to fill out certain forms as information will be pre-entered. You’ll also be able to save your request and complete it later.
Meet your needs
After listening to your feedback, we’re maintaining the status of current joint cardholders. Nothing will change for current joint cardholders unless they wish to make adjustments.
Over the past few months, we’ve consulted our cardholders to better understand their expectations and concerns. We’ve based our improvements on their feedback, and we’re supporting them as needed–before, during and after the modernization of our system.
Improve performance
We’re modernizing our system so we can upgrade our solutions, remain relevant and ensure long-term performance.
Maintenance period in October 2026
To ensure that our new system runs as designed, a maintenance period will be required in October.
What to expect during the maintenance period
You can continue to use your credit card as usual for transactions and payments. Fraud detection and prevention mechanisms will remain active.
However, certain card management features may be limited or unavailable during this period, such as increasing your credit limit, changing your PIN or redeeming BONUSDOLLARS®.
We’ll make sure you get the information you need throughout the process. We’ll never contact you to ask for personal information as part of the modernization process.
To avoid hiccups, we suggest that you carry out any important card management tasks before this period, such as changing your address, increasing your credit limit or replacing your card.

We're here to support you during the process.
Improvements for individuals
Throughout October 2026, certain improvements will be made to Accord D financing and other features and products related to credit cards for individuals. Learn about these changes so you can continue to manage your account without disruption.
Joint cardholder option remains, plus other cardholder options
To continue to meet your needs, we’ve ensured that joint cardholders can keep their joint accounts.
We’re also offering other credit card account options, with different roles for each cardholder.
Options for credit card accounts
As we modernize our credit card system, compare the different ways you can have a credit card account and their associated roles and actions.
Roles
- Primary cardholder
- Joint cardholder
- Authorized user
To simplify matters, we use the term cardholder to designate both primary and joint cardholders. All cardholders on a credit card account are responsible for the entire debt and management of the account.

Improved experience when redeeming BONUSDOLLARS
- Your BONUSDOLLARS balance will be updated in real time when you redeem online. You can see your updated balance immediately after you redeem.
- You can apply your BONUSDOLLARS to several purchases in one transaction.
- Note that due to the system change, the BONUSDOLLARS information you see on your next statement may not be entirely up to date, though your rewards balance will remain accurate.
Simplified experience when applying for a credit card
- A new way to start or easily continue your credit card application online or on the phone with an advisor.
- Quick response on your eligibility and credit limit amount, except in cases where further analysis is needed.
- Self-service dashboard so you can see the status of your request and track it in real time.
- Notifications throughout the process to inform you of the necessary steps to take.
- Instant notifications in the event of credit bureau freezes (if you’ve turned on this feature).
- Ability to see reasons for refusal online if applicable, to help you understand our decision.
Accord D financing
Our updated credit card management system will bring changes to how you manage your Accord D financing.
After the modernization process, your Accord D financing will appear in the Cards, loans and credit section in your Account Summary (in the Desjardins mobile services app) or on the AccèsD home page.
Converting your Accord D financing into a personal loan
By converting your Accord D financing into a personal loan, you’ll find it easier to manage your account. You may also get a better rate
To be eligible for this rate on your current financing:
- Your balance must be at least $1,000
- Your remaining term must be at least 12 months
You also need to be a Desjardins member.
If you’re eligible, the rate will be offered to you in our mobile and online services.
You can convert your financing using our mobile and online services or with the help of an advisor.
Viewing your Accord D monthly installment
Your Accord D monthly installment will no longer appear in your credit card balance. To see what you need to pay, check your statement. You’ll find your payment amounts included under Amount due this month and Minimum payment due. The minimum payment due that appears in our mobile and online services also includes your Accord D monthly installment.
Accord D monthly installment payments and prepayments
- Payment of your Accord D monthly installments and any prepayments will go through your credit card account instead of directly toward your Accord D financing plan.
- When you pay your monthly installment or make a prepayment toward your Accord D financing, the amount is temporarily credited to your card, then transferred to your financing plan within 24 to 72 hours.
- When you make a prepayment, the way your payment is allocated depends on your total credit card balance and the order in which payments are applied. If you want to customize how your payment is allocated, contact us.
- Since Accord D financing payments now go through your credit card, your pre-scheduled payments may not work anymore. If this happens, we’ll let you know and you can contact us to discuss your options.
