About 2-step verification

2-step verification means providing 2 types of information to confirm your identity. By turning this feature on, you're adding a step that provides an extra layer of security when logging in to AccèsD.

It's simple: once you've entered your password on AccèsD, a single-use security code will be sent to you by notification from the mobile app or by text message. You'll have to enter the code to log in to your account.

2-step verification is available to both personal and business members.

What it's for

By adding a security code to your password, you'll have extra protection when you use AccèsD to:

  • Reduce the risk of identity theft
  • Avoid certain types of online fraud

How to turn on 2-step verification

  1. Log in to AccèsD - This link will open in a new window.
  2. Under Quick access, select Security.

  3. In the Security and password screen, select 2-step verification.

  4. Select Turn on to turn on the feature.

  5. Choose whether you want to receive the single-use security code via notification in the Desjardins mobile app or by text message.

  6. Enter the security code and then select Continue. 2-step verification is now turned on.

  2. On the Overview page, select Profile and preferences and then choose Security and password.

  3. In the Security and password screen, select 2-step verification.

  4. Select Turn on to turn on the feature.

  5. Choose whether you want to receive the single-use security code via notification in the Desjardins mobile app or by text message.

  6. Enter the security code and then select Continue. 2-step verification is now turned on.

    Make sure your cellphone number and other personal contact information is up to date in Profile and preferences.
  2. Enable auto-locking on your electronic devices
    Adjust the settings of your devices so they lock automatically when they're not being used.
  3. Only install apps from reliable sources
    Apps from untrustworthy sources could be infected with viruses that destroy your files or record your keystrokes.
