Frequently asked questions
How do I report a change of address? How can I get a void cheque with my account information? How can I avoid NSF fees? Why do error messages sometimes appear on AccèsD? I received a phishing email. What do I do? Can I transfer funds to someone who isn't a Desjardins member? What changes can I make to my AccèsD bill file?
How do I report a change of address?
You can change your address on your accounts, credit cards and investments by phone, on AccèsD or in person at the caisse.
How to report a change of address
- Log in to AccèsD.
- Click Profile and preferences in the right-hand menu and then Change contact information under Profile.
See the Change your address section for our contact information.
How can I get a void cheque with my account information?
You can print a void cheque for any of your accounts.
- Log on to AccèsD.
- Click More options in the right-hand menu, then Void cheques.
- Click Void cheque in the table.
You can also access your bank information as follows:
- Click on the Transactions/Operations tab.
- In the Account column, click on your folio number (followed by -PCA). You’ll find your account information under Account details.
How can I avoid NSF fees?
When you write a cheque or agree to make pre-authorized payments to an organization, you must ensure you have enough money in your account to honour your commitment. If you don't, NSF (non-sufficient funds) fees will be charged to your account.
You can avoid NSF fees by signing up for overdraft protection, which links your account to your Desjardins credit card.
To learn more, see Overdraft protection.
Why do error messages sometimes appear on AccèsD?
Here are 3 examples of error messages you might get while logged in to AccèsD.
A system error occurred. Please contact us at the telephone numbers listed under "Contact us" in the upper right hand portion of the screen.
You have been automatically logged out for security purposes. Your session was inactive for too long or you refreshed a page or clicked on the back button.
You are not authorized to access the site. Call us.
To avoid error messages and ensure an optimal use of our services, please see the following recommendations:
- Clear your browser's cache memory.
- Access the AccèsD site securely by using the complete www.desjardins.com address. To log in, click on the Log in button in the upper right hand portion of the screen.
- Update your computer.
- Try using another browser to connect.
I received a phishing email. What do I do?
If you receive a suspicious email or text message:
- Don't click any links, texts or images.
- Don't open any attachments or activate any document macros.
- Don't download or authorize any images.
- Don't reply to the sender. It only confirms that your email is valid.
Can I transfer funds to someone who isn't a Desjardins member?
Yes. Interac e-Transfers are a simple, secure way to transfer funds to a recipient at another Canadian financial institution or Desjardins. All the recipient needs is a bank account in Canada and an email address or mobile number. Transfers must be in Canadian currency.
To learn more, see Interac e-Transfers™.
What changes can I make to my AccèsD bill file?
You can manage your bills directly on AccèsD.
Here are just a few things you can do:
- Add bills
- Change bill reference numbers
- Delete bills
- Add, change or cancel bill payments scheduled in advance
Tips
Adding bills
When using the search engine to find an organization or bill, enter a keyword to facilitate your search. Once you've selected the bill you're looking for, click on the question mark icon for information about the reference number to enter.
Example: You want to pay your municipal taxes for the city of Lévis. Do your search using the keyword “Lévis”. Results will be much more precise than if you search using the more general keyword “Taxes”.
Confirmation number
If you've made a bill payment on AccèsD, you can always go back and find the transaction confirmation number.
- Click Search transactions in the right-hand menu, then on Bill payments
- Search for your payment.
- See the Confirmation no. column in the table.
To learn more, see Pay your bills.

Frequently asked questions
I entered my information incorrectly 3 times, and now my card is suspended! What should I do? Do I need to let Desjardins know if I’m planning to use my cards while travelling abroad? My Desjardins Access Card is expiring this month. Will it automatically be renewed? What should I do if my Desjardins Access Card is lost or stolen?
I entered my information incorrectly 3 times, and now my card is suspended! What should I do?
For security reasons, your card will be blocked if you enter your PIN incorrectly 3 times in a row. To reactivate your card, you’ll have to go to any Desjardins caisse with 2 valid pieces of ID, at least one of which with a photo and signature. If you can’t get to a caisse, contact us for a replacement card.
If you enter the wrong birth date 3 times, you’ll need to go to your Desjardins caisse (where the account is held). No other caisse will be able to reactivate your card.
Do I need to let Desjardins know if I’m planning to use my cards while travelling abroad?
You don’t need to contact your caisse if you’re planning to use your Desjardins Access Card (debit card) while you travel.
Tips
- It’s a good idea to bring a second Desjardins Access Card with you, in case one is lost or stolen. Keep it with your important documents.
- You should also have a second way to pay for things, like a credit card or traveller’s cheques.
- Make sure you’re using a PLUS network ATM. This network is the equivalent of Canada’s Interac network and can accept 5-digit pins. If you’re asked to enter a 4-digit PIN, just enter your 5-digit PIN anyways.
To learn more, see Travelling.
My Desjardins Access Card is expiring this month. Will it automatically be renewed?
We will automatically mail a new Desjardins Access Card to the address we have on file for you, around 1 or 2 months before your current card expires. Your Desjardins Access Card is valid until the last day of the month it expires, which is written on the front of your card.
If this date passes and you haven’t received your new card, call us at 1-800-CAISSES (1-800-224-7737).
What should I do if my Desjardins Access Card is lost or stolen?
Contact us immediately to let us know if your card is lost or stolen. We’ll make sure that the old card is cancelled and a new one is issued right away.
The service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between a TFSA and an RRSP? How is interest calculated on term savings accounts? Can I transfer funds out of my TFSA account myself on AccèsD? What's a Savings Account?
What's the difference between a TFSA and an RRSP?
The advantage of TFSAs and RRSPs is that they allow you to save money tax-free. Also, the 2 plans complement each other because they meet different types of needs.
RRSPs are designed to help you save for retirement.
Non-taxable withdrawals make TFSAs a good tool to help you save for projects: buying a car, renovating your home, starting a business or taking a trip.
You’re likely to lean towards one of the 2 options based on your situation. For example:
- Depending on your income, TFSAs may be better than RRSPs to save for retirement.
- When buying your first home, using your RRSP towards your down payment via the Home Buyers’ Plan (HBP) can be a great strategy.
How is interest calculated on term savings accounts?
Term Savings gives you both capital protection and earned interest. No matter how financial markets perform, you know what your return will be right from the start. The interest rate tells you what your annual guaranteed return will be on your investment on an annual basis.
Calculated daily, interest can be paid at various times. The frequency of interest payments is determined at the time you take out the investment.

Can I transfer funds out of my TFSA account myself on AccèsD?
You can transfer funds from your TFSA savings to your everyday account on AccèsD.
- Click on the Transfers button in the right-hand menu and then on Transfers between accounts.
- Check From next to your TFSA Savings Account.
- Check To next to the destination account.
- Enter the transfer amount.
- Click on Validate.
- Then click on Confirm.
If you don't see a From button next to your TFSA Savings Account, please contact your caisse.
What's a Savings Account?
Only available on AccèsD Internet and mobile, the Savings Account is for people who want to grow their savings quickly by earning interest on each dollar saved. There are no fees and you can access your funds easily. The account is also RRSP eligible.

Frequently asked questions
Can I transfer funds from my line of credit to my everyday account? Who do I go about making a principal payment on a loan or requesting a payment agreement? What's the difference between a Desjardins Auto and Leisure Vehicle Loan and a Desjardins Auto+ Loan How do I have my first student loan disbursement deposited to my Desjardins account?
Can I transfer funds from my line of credit to my everyday account?
You can't transfer funds from your line of credit to your everyday account. Lines of credit were designed to protect your account in the event of insufficient funds when making purchases, bill payments, pre-authorized payments, etc.
A line of credit is a financing product that allows you to get funds when you need them from your everyday account. Transactions are authorized even though they exceed your account balance. The account is overdrawn, and a cash advance from your line of credit automatically brings your account back up to $0 at the end of the day.
You can, however, have funds transferred from your line of credit to your everyday account by contacting your caisse.
Who do I go about making a principal payment on a loan or requesting a payment agreement?
To make prepayments on a loan or to request a payment agreement, you must, in both cases, contact the appropriate component depending on the type of loan you have.
