Everyday account teen offer

Our account with a free monthly plan1 gives teens 12 to 17 a chance to build financial independence.

At 14, teens can open their own account online.

If your teen is 12 or 13 years old, you’ll need to come with them to a caisse or branch with the required documents. If you’re already a member, book an appointment using our mobile and online services, or make an appointment by phone if you're not a member.

Reasons to open an account as a teen

Receiving an allowance or a first paycheque is a great way for teens to learn how to manage their money. With an everyday account and relevant financial advice, it's easier to become more independent and make informed choices.

Open an account for your 12- or 13-year-old

If you’re a member, you can book an appointment to open an account for your teen using our mobile and online services. A parent or legal guardian must go with them to the appointment.

If you’re not a member, contact any caisse or branch to book an appointment. 

At the appointment, you’ll need to show a piece of ID for both you and your teen, such as a passport, health insurance card or birth certificate.

Everyday account with a free monthly plan

Our everyday account with the free Unlimited plan1 is great for making deposits, payments, withdrawals and transfers.

Good to know

Until age 24, you can automatically get the free Unlimited plan with free monthly statements. Once you’re 18, you have access to the youth offer, which includes other financial products and services.

Debit card

Teens can request a debit card when they open an everyday account. They can use it for their daily transactions, including:

  • Contactless payments
  • Mobile payments by adding their debit card to their digital wallet
  • ATM withdrawals and deposits

How do I open an everyday account for my teen at a caisse or branch?

  1. Find a caisse or branch
  2. Call to book an appointment and find out which pieces of ID and documents are required for opening an account.
  3. At the appointment, we'll verify your teen's identity with the ID provided and they'll sign the account opening documents.
