Anne-Marie Poitras, LLB, ASC
Vice-president, SME and Funds under Management Governance
Anne-Marie is Vice-President of SME and Funds under Management Governance with Desjardins Business Capital régional et coopératif. Her position gives her responsibility for governance of CRCD’s minority or majority equity investments partner firms through the selection, nomination and assessment of the external directors designated to serve on the boards of these SMEs.
Ms. Poitras is also responsible for all corporate secretary activities of the manager’s funds under management, including CRCD, as well as for all governance and ethics issues.
She joined the Desjardins team in 2013, holding the position of Director, SME Governance.
She began her career in the damage insurance division of Quebec’s largest insurer and went on to be owner and vice-president of Poitras, Larue, Rondeau, which later became Univesta Insurance and Financial Services.
With in-depth knowledge of financial industry regulations governance and compliance issues, she was involved from 2003 to 2010 in the first management team at the Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF) as Superintendent, Client Services and Compensation. She was also a member of the board of directors of Collège des administrateurs de sociétés from 2005 to 2010.
Holding a bachelor’s degree in law and soon to complete a master’s degree in applied ethics from Université de Sherbrooke, Ms. Poitras serves on the Canadian Bar Association’s ethics and regulatory compliance committee and on the boards of Maison Théâtre and Éditions Protégez-vous.
Ms. Poitras earned a Certified Corporate Director designation from the Collège des administrateurs de sociétés in 2007 and has been a member of the Barreau du Québec since 1993.
