Multiple Desjardins teams work to support youth

The Desjardins Foundation could not do its work without the support of the teams, directors and retirees of Desjardins. This year, we benefitted from the impressive generosity of Desjardins teams that wanted to help us increase the scope of our work. Through these initiatives, we collected more than $326,500, which will be given back to our youth through our programs and partnerships. Here are a few examples:

Femmes Desjardins

We received a generous $38,000 donation following the dissolution of Femmes Desjardins, a network of Desjardins Group women created in 1988. After more than 30 years, the network has evolved into Empowering Women, a Canada-wide network of women and their allies. Their mission: to take women in leadership to the next level.

On the Road

On October 21 and 22, nearly 440 employees in the Finance, Treasury and Administration Executive Division walked or ran for 24 consecutive hours to raise money for young people during the fifth annual On the Road event. This year, a record $223,000 was raised for youth across Canada.

A display of solidarity in the Desjardins kitchens

In response to the huge demand Canadian food banks have been facing this year, the Lévis-based Catering and Reception teams decided to take part in the La Tablée des Chefs's Solidarity Kitchens. The goal of the initiative is to prepare meals for organizations providing food assistance to individuals in need. In total, 103,334 meals were prepared. The teams decided to donate the money they received to the Foundation to cover the costs of the meals. Thanks to this year's initiatives, $48,223 was donated.
