The caisse enriches the lives of individuals and communities through its financial and human contributions. It supports projects that meet the needs and expectations of its members. Desjardins is an important socioeconomic leader in the community and works alongside several partners.
Through donations, sponsorships and contributions from the Community Development Fund, the caisse supports multiple local and regional initiatives in various sectors.
The Community Development Fund (CDF), also called community dividends, is made possible by the caisse's yearly surplus earnings. During the annual general meeting, members vote on the amount allocated to the CDF. This is a way for all caisse members to support the development of their community and important projects.

Even thought we're well-established in our community, Caisse du Plateau-Mont-Royal works directly with several neighbouring caisses, particularly in donations and sponsorship. In fact, we collaborate on many regional initiatives whether in arts and culture or projects affecting youth and families. Montreal International Documentary Festival (RIDM Festival), Montreal Museums Day, Fantasia Festival, The Eurêka! Festival and the Zero Waste Festival are just a few examples.
During Co-op Week that is held every year in mid-October, a hundred or so employees from Plateau-Mont-Royal, du Quartier-Latin and Complexe Desjardins volunteer at the Refuge des jeunes de Montréal for a week—because cooperation is who we are!
Caisse Desjardins du Plateau-Mont-Royal reiterates its commitment to the environment with a unique project!
Thanks to the Desjardins partout! project, the Caisse encourages urban, residential and commercial agricultural projects that:
The project must be sustainable, such as green walls, or the installation of a green roof, a rainwater collection barrel, solar panels, etc.
This project is subsized through the Community Development Fund at Caisse Desjardins du Plateau-Mont-Royal and is for all members wishing to reduce their ecological footprint.
In the interest of community development, Caisse populaire Desjardins du Mont-Royal offers people of limited means the possibility of obtaining a small loan. This comes as a result of an association with the Option Consommateurs organization through the "Neighbourhood Loan" program. For more information, please contact Option Consommateurs.
