Involvement in the community
As a member, your relationship with your caisse is a way for you to contribute to your community. The Community Development Fund, donations and sponsorships are important tools to foster the economic vitality of your neighbourhood. in 2019, more than $616,294 was invested in support of dozens of local initiatives.

In addition to contributions from the Community Development Fund, Caisse populaire Desjardins des Ramées gave $260,415 in donations and sponsorships to the community over 2019.
Numerous projects and organizations received financial support from the caisse, including: Carrefour jeunesse-emploi des Îles, Centre d'activités physiques, Fondation Santé de l'Archipel, Regroupement Loisir des Îles, Site de la Côte, Attention Frag'Îles and Entraide communautaire des Îles.

In addition to the donations and sponsorships it awards, the caisse has a help fund that serves to redistribute a portion of the cooperative's surplus earnings to the community. Following a proposal by the Board of Directors, members decide, during the Annual General Meeting, what portion of the surplus earnings will be paid into the help fund. With the help of their caisse, members can support causes that are important to them.
The members who sit on the Board of Directors manage the help fund. Every year, they report on the fund during the Annual General Meeting.

Several organizations received support from Caisse populaire Desjardins des Ramées Community Development Fund in 2019, including: Centre Multisport Desjardins, Fondation Madeli-Aide, Council for Anglophone Magdalen Islanders (CAMI), Association madelinienne pour la sécurité énergétique et environnementale (AMSÉE) and Coopérative École Cindy Mae Danse.
