Terms and conditions for credit card online account statements

Definitions

Online account statement: an account statement the cardholder can view through a website or application authorized by Desjardins.

Cardholder: person whose name appears on the statement of account and who is registered for online account statements.

By registering for online account statements, the cardholder agrees to be bound by the following terms and conditions:

  • Registration for online account statements automatically puts an end to the mailing of paper account statements. If the date of registration for online account statements is too close to the date the cardholder’s account statement is processed, the statement may be sent by mail to the cardholder and will not necessarily be available in electronic format. Subsequent account statements will be available in electronic format only.
  • The cardholder acknowledges that an online account statement has the same value as the paper version of the account statement and that it constitutes sufficient written proof in any legal proceedings. The cardholder acknowledges that they are responsible for accessing their online account statements, consulting them and saving them for later viewing, if applicable.
  • The cardholder acknowledges that Desjardins shall not be liable for damages resulting from the inability to view online account statements caused by actions beyond the control of Desjardins, including equipment breakdown and problems related to the internet provider. If the cardholder cannot view their online account statement, they must contact Desjardins immediately.

Desjardins may, at any time, suspend access to online account statements and send the statements by mail.

Terms for the prepaid card online account statement

Online account statement: an account statement the cardholder can view through a website or app authorized by the Federation.

Primary cardholder: individual who holds and is responsible for the prepaid card account, and who obtained a Visa Desjardins prepaid card in his or her name.

A monthly account statement shall be provided free of charge to the primary cardholder in electronic format, or in paper format, depending on the cardholder’s choice.

If the primary cardholder wishes to receive a paper account statement for a previous month, he must send a request in writing to the Federation, at the Customer Service address indicated in the Terms of Use, regardless of whether he or she normally receives an electronic or paper monthly statement.

The primary cardholder agrees to promptly check all transactions appearing on the account statement, and to report to the Federation any mistake, omission, incorrect entry or other irregularity within 30 days of receiving the account statement. The electronic statement is deemed received the day following the end of the period it covers. If the primary cardholder fails to notify the Federation within the said deadline, the transactions charged to the account statement shall be deemed verified and accurate.

The primary cardholder acknowledges that the account statement has the same value as a paper account statement, and that it constitutes sufficient written proof in any court proceeding.

The cardholder acknowledges that the Federation shall not be held liable for damages resulting from the inability to view the online account statement caused by actions beyond the control of the Federation, including equipment breakdown and problems related to the Internet provider. If the cardholder cannot view his online account statement, he or she must contact the Federation immediately.

The Federation may at any time suspend the electronic presentation of the online account statement and send it by mail.
