You are not required to identify yourself when making use of the Service, except when such identifying information is required to access the site's decision-making and transactional tools. At the same time, the more accurate, complete and current your personal information, the easier it will be to tailor the Service to your requirements.

Desjardins is keenly aware of the need to protect your security and privacy, particularly in regard to any information you provide to Desjardins while making use of the Service.

Please refer to the site's Privacy statement for details about Desjardins's practices in this area.

When you register for the Service, you must choose a user ID, email address and password that will enable you to access the Service.

Likewise, when you complete the email registration form, you will receive a web address, which will also serve as a password. The web address will allow you to access your registration profile and to make any necessary changes.

You alone are responsible for protecting the confidentiality of your user ID, email address and passwords as well as the confidentiality of any actions undertaken in regard to the identification or password authentication process for all Desjardins Services.

Moreover, you are responsible for immediately notifying Desjardins about any unauthorized use of your user ID, email address or passwords and any other security breach, as well as for taking every possible precaution to ensure that you use the Service under optimal security conditions.

Debit card

Conditions for using your debit card with this application

To use your debit card (the “Card”) with this application (the "Application"), you must agree to the following:

I understand that all transactions carried out through the Application using my Card are subject to the conditions governing the use of the Card.

The Application allows me to carry out transactions with the Card, up to a maximum amount determined by the financial institution that issued the Card, at participating merchants. To complete a transaction at the merchant using the Application, the card does not need to be inserted or swiped in a payment terminal or other device designed for that purpose, and I do not need to enter my PIN. I can simply wave the mobile device containing the Application with the Card programmed into it near the terminal or other device designed for that purpose. I can also use the Application to complete transactions remotely without being in the presence of the merchant and without entering my PIN. I understand that every transaction carried out using my Card through the Application is considered to be an authorized use of my Card and I am subject to the same liability as if I had entered the PIN for my Card in a payment terminal or any other accessible device.

To prevent any unauthorized use of my Card, I agree to take all necessary precautions to keep my mobile device safe, as well as any passwords or information that would allow someone to use the Application to make a transaction with my Card. If such precautions are not taken, I understand that it will be presumed that I have contributed to the unauthorized use of my Card and assume all liability therefor. If my mobile device is lost or stolen, or if someone else learns or is suspected of having learned my login information, I understand that I must immediately advise my financial institution.

I understand that the option to use my Card with the Application may be withdrawn at any time without notice, for any reason, including suspected fraud, or if I do not comply with these conditions or any other conditions related to my Card. The Application is owned and developed by a third party not affiliated with the Federation, its caisses or its subsidiaries ("Desjardins"). Therefore, I understand that Desjardins does not set the terms of use of this Application and is not responsible for its operation. I understand that solely the Application provider is liable for any problem with or associated with the Application, and the financial institution that issued the Card is not involved in any way. I understand that solely my mobile device provider and/or telecommunications services provider is liable for any problem with or associated with my mobile device, and the financial institution that issued the Card is not involved in any way.

Credit card

Conditions for using your credit card or prepaid card with this application

To use your credit card or prepaid card (the "Card") with this application (the "Application"), you must agree to the following:

I understand that all transactions carried out through the Application using my Card are subject to the agreement governing the use of the Card. I understand that every transaction carried out using my Card through the Application is considered to be an authorized use of my Card, and I am subject to the same liability as if I had signed for each transaction or entered the personal identification number (PIN) for my Card in a payment terminal or any other accessible device.

The Application is owned and developed by a third party not affiliated with the Federation, its caisses or its subsidiaries ("Desjardins"). Therefore, I understand that Desjardins does not set the terms of use of this Application and is not responsible for its operation.

Terms of Use for the Desjardins Assistant

You must read these Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy for the Desjardins Assistant before installing and using the Desjardins Assistant. By activating and using the Desjardins Assistant for the first time, you agree to be bound by the following terms and by the Privacy Policy for the Desjardins Assistant. These terms and policy, as well as any modifications to them, are an agreement between you and:

  • the caisses with which you do business now or in the future
  • the Fédération des caisses Desjardins du Québec, if you have or get a Desjardins credit card

For brevity, these components are referred to as "Desjardins," "we" or "us".

When we say "Google", we also mean Google Home, Google Assistant, the company known as Google LLC and its affiliated companies, unless the context implies a more restricted meaning.

These Terms of Use apply to features already available as well as future ones. They complement existing agreements you may have with Desjardins, but do not replace them. For example, if we create Desjardins Assistant features that enable you to make transfers, these transfers will remain governed by the agreements you already have with Desjardins, including any applicable fees.

What precautions should you take when creating an access code for the Desjardins Assistant?

To activate the Desjardins Assistant, you'll need to choose a unique access code that's hard to guess and that only you could know. The access code protects you against unauthorized access to the Desjardins Assistant and your information.

If you share your access code or someone guesses it, they'll be able to access your information and give instructions to the Desjardins Assistant using your device or another device set up with your Google account, with or without your consent.

Once you've added your access code, you'll only need it to start a Desjardins Assistant session. Once you've finished using the Desjardins Assistant, you must request to end the session and wait for confirmation that the session has ended. You may end your session as you normally would on your Desjardins Assistant-enabled device, then add "Goodbye". If you don't end your session or don't wait for confirmation that it has ended, anyone with access to your device could ask questions to the Desjardins Assistant after you. They could then access your information and give instructions to the Desjardins Assistant without knowing your access code.

For security reasons, your Desjardins Assistant session will automatically end after a certain period of inactivity. To continue using the Desjardins Assistant, you'll need to repeat your access code.

What other precautions should you take when using the Desjardins Assistant?

  • Don't give anyone access to your Desjardins accounts or to accounts linked to Devices that can be used to access the Desjardins Assistant. Always protect access to these accounts.
  • Protect the access code you use to ask questions to the Desjardins Assistant.
  • Remember that if someone is listening without your knowledge, they can hear the information uttered by the Desjardins Assistant.
  • End your Desjardins Assistant session after each use.

What can you ask the Desjardins Assistant?

Desjardins Assistant features may change over time. See the features currently available.

You can ask the Desjardins Assistant to:

  • state your Personal Chequing Account balance and latest transactions
  • state your Desjardins credit card balance and latest transactions
  • carry out payment transactions on your Desjardins credit card

The Desjardins Assistant could also enable you to make certain transactions like transfers or provide general information on Desjardins products and services.

We may add or remove features at any time. We do not guarantee the availability or permanence of Desjardins Assistant features.

What information about you is shared with Google?

For more information on this topic, see the Privacy Policy for the Desjardins Assistant.

What information do we collect through the Desjardins Assistant?

We keep a history of your use of Desjardins Assistant features. We may use this information for security purposes, to improve our services or suggest products and services that you may be interested in. To learn more, see the Privacy Policy for the Desjardins Assistant.

What are your responsibilities when using the Desjardins Assistant?

You're responsible for protecting your information and access code.

Desjardins cannot be held responsible for any damages you may incur due to circumstances beyond our control. For example:

  • If someone overhears information uttered by the Desjardins Assistant without you wanting them to or without you knowing
  • If you didn't add or protect your access code and someone obtains your information without your knowledge or consent
  • If your Google account is compromised and someone else has access to it
  • If the Desjardins Assistant doesn't work properly or at all, doesn't understand you, or gives you the wrong information

If you give other people access to Desjardins Assistant features, you accept full responsibility for whatever use they make of them and are responsible for ensuring they agree to the use of their personal information. You understand that these people could give your access to other people, with or without your consent. Desjardins has no control over this.

Desjardins doesn't guarantee the availability or proper functioning of Desjardins Assistant features.

Can we change or remove Desjardins Assistant features?

We may add or remove Desjardins Assistant features with or without prior notice.

At any time, we may also add features that use information held by other Desjardins Group components than those specified at the beginning of these Terms of Use. For example, we may add features that enable you to ask the Desjardins Assistant for information on your insurance policies (life, auto, home, etc.). In such cases, you understand and accept that these Terms of Use constitute an agreement between you and the other Desjardins Group components that hold this information.

We may modify these Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy for the Desjardins Assistant at any time. We may also ask you to agree to certain changes to continue using Desjardins Assistant features.

We may terminate or limit access to Desjardins Assistant features at any time.

The Service Terms of Use represent the entire agreement between Desjardins and you with regard to use of the Service and they supersede any prior agreement between you and Desjardins concerning use of the Service. You may also be subject to additional Terms of Use specific to certain services, third party content and third party software that will be disclosed to you once you access such services, content or software. The failure by Desjardins to exercise any rights conferred upon it by virtue of the Terms of Use in no way constitutes a waiver of such rights. Should any provision of these Terms of Use be judged to be invalid by the decision of a court, all other provisions will remain in effect and continue to apply. The section titles in the Terms of Use are provided for information purposes only and have no legal effect.

Finally, the use of some Desjardins services may require compliance with additional or specific rules, conditions, provisions or guidelines that will be set forth in a separate agreement. Such rules and guidelines will be considered an integral part of these Terms of Use. In the event of any disagreement or confusion between the Terms of Use and the separate agreement, the latter will prevail.
