Tools and resources to help kids stay in school and succeed
The Desjardins Foundation supports many organizations that work to promote academic success. We also partner with organizations to develop tools to help parents and teachers.
Our youth need recognition and acknowledgement to stay motivated in school. It's up to us to support and encourage them.

The Emotion Game
Created by the Jasmin Roy Sophie Desmarais Foundation, The Emotion Game helps children understand their emotions and put their feelings into words so they can adopt positive behaviours in school.
Partner organizations and other resources
Explaining differences to kids
Our contribution to the Jasmin Roy Sophie Desmarais Foundation also funds the development of educational videos that use puppetry to explain differences to children and to give you tools to promote the development of relationship skills.

Jeunes musiciens du monde
We help the organization systemize its musical and social pedagogical approach, allowing hundreds of children and teens in high-risk environments to have fun learning music to help them develop their full potential.

Lire et faire lire
The goals of this reading program are to help kids discover the joys of reading and develop a love for books and to foster intergenerational links. Our contribution provides support to local branches in Quebec and Ontario to increase the program's reach.

Keep-Your-Cool School Kit from Alloprof Parents
This kit will allow you to help your kids with school. It contains useful tools and tips, including stickers with supportive messages, homework routine charts and tips to reduce test anxiety.

Detecting learning disabilities in children
Created in partnership with the Vanguard Centre of Expertise, this tool provides learning disability signs to watch for in your child and resources so you can help your child succeed in school.
Guide on school violence and bullying
This guide features tools to help you detect violent situations and intervene on behalf of your child.
It was published in partnership with the Jasmin Roy Sophie Desmarais Foundation as part of Grandes rencontres, a training session tour for people working in academic institutions that provides tools to fight school violence and bullying.

Alloprof
We support Alloprof Parents, which provides a wide range of tools related to children's education.
Articles, downloadable resources, videos and videoconferences are available, as well as an online forum and phone service to speak directly with experts.

Learning disabilities
We support the work of the Vanguard Centre of Expertise in developing tools for students with learning disabilities.
Support is offered in the form of training sessions for teachers and workshops for parents.

We contribute to the development of educational guidance tools by Academos, a social media platform that introduces 14- to-30-year-olds to the working world and helps them determine what they want to do professionally.
Academos also gives mentors the opportunity to share their passion with the next generation.

Virtual reality to raise awareness
We support the Jasmin Roy Sophie Desmarais Foundation and its 360 workshops, an initiative that uses virtual reality to make high school students aware of the negative impact of violence and bullying in school.

Mental health support
We support mental health through the Partners for Life program by Fondation Jeunes et Tête. The organization holds workshops in Quebec schools to educate secondary 1 and 2 students about habits for maintaining good mental health.

Internships for high school students
We help promote JeunesExplo – Stages d'un jour day internships for thousands of secondary 4 and 5 students to help them learn about the workplace and the job they hope to have someday.

Support for young people who need help
Our contributions to Kids Help Phone makes the organization's live chat services more accessible, as it's a common method of communication among young people seeking help.
Kids Help Phone offers free, 24/7 professional counselling and information to young people across Canada who need help and have nowhere else to turn.

Tools for increasing self-esteem
We support the organization Kids Now, which provides tools to grade 7 and 8 students across Ontario to help build their self-esteem and empower them to believe they deserve to make positive choices.

Support for young people in Portage rehab programs
We sponsor teenagers and young adults in Quebec and Ontario who need help staying in school due to substance abuse-related issues.
These students can get help throughout their high school career, all the way to graduation.

Academos, to find your dream job
Do you know about Academos? It's an app to help you find your dream job. This social networking platform introduces young people to the working world and helps them determine what they want to do professionally.
You can talk with mentors who work in a field you're interested in.

Parliament Hill internships
We give young Canadian university graduates the opportunity to intern on Parliament Hill in Ottawa, where they become fully immersed in Canadian democratic life.

Help for young people at Auberges du cœur
We provide young people staying in Auberge du cœur youth shelters the tools they need to stay in school. The funds donated by the Desjardins Foundation go towards meeting each centre's specific needs, which may include tutoring services, school supplies and computers.

Literacy scholarships
We award I Don't Give Up, I'm a Winner! scholarships to recognize the perseverance and determination of adults who have successfully made efforts to improve their literacy skills.
Support when you need it
If talking to an adult you trust is not an option, Kids Help Phone offers free, 24/7 professional counselling and information to young people across Canada.
Our support makes the organization's live chat services more accessible, as it's a common method of communication among young people who seek help.
