Desjardins mobile payment service terms of use

In addition to the variable credit agreement governing the use of your Visa Desjardins card, by using the mobile payment service, you agree to the terms of use below.

Definitions

“Eligible mobile device”: Mobile device that meets the Federation’s requirements and onto which the Desjardins mobile payment service application may be downloaded.

“Desjardins mobile payment service”: Service that uses contactless technology to allow the cardholder to carry out transactions with an eligible mobile device.

  1. Eligibility requirements: To use the Desjardins mobile payment service, you must:
    • Be an eligible Visa Desjardins cardholder and have an account in good standing
    • Have an eligible mobile device and an account in good standing with a participating telecommunications service provider authorized by the Federation
    • Meet all other requirements set forth by the Federation, the participating telecommunications service provider or the payment application provider
  2. Mobile card: To use the Desjardins mobile payment service, a mobile card associated with the cardholder’s current credit card or prepaid card account, but with a separate number, is issued. No card will be sent to the cardholder and the card number can only be used to carry out Desjardins mobile payment service transactions.
  3. Cancellation or deactivation of Desjardins mobile payment service: The cardholder may at any time cancel their registration for the Desjardins mobile payment service by calling customer service at 1-800-363-3380  Phone number of customer service for individuals. The Federation reserves the right to modify or terminate the mobile payment service without notice if the cardholder no longer meets the eligibility requirements.
  4. Responsibility of the Federation: The Federation cannot be held liable for the refusal of a merchant to honour the Desjardins mobile payment service, nor for the reliability of the point-of-sale equipment and the mobile device used to carry out the transaction.
  5. Loss of eligible mobile device: In the event that the cardholder’s eligible mobile device is lost or stolen, the cardholder will inform their telecommunications service provider.
  6. By registering for the Desjardins mobile payment service, the cardholder accepts that their personal information may be processed and stored in the United States. As such, the governments, courts and regulatory bodies of the United States may be able to obtain this information under legislation applicable there.
  7. Google Analytics : Desjardins uses Google Analytics on Desjardins websites (hereinafter “Sites”) and Desjardins mobile applications (hereinafter “Applications”). The service is provided by Google Inc. (hereinafter “Google”). Desjardins uses first-party identifiers and third-party identifiers in conjunction with third-party vendors. Google Analytics uses cookies and other unique identifiers, which are anonymous identifiers placed on your computer material. They help Desjardins to analyze your use of the Sites and Applications. The traffic data collected through cookies and other unique identifiers particularly pertains to your use of the Sites and Applications (including your IP address). Google transmits the data and stocks it on servers in the United States. Google may share this data with third parties where legally obligated or when a third party is processing data for a Google account. No information allowing Google to identify you will be transmitted.

    Google will use the information collected to:
    • Analyze your use of the Sites and Applications
    • Compile reports on Site and Application activity
    • Provide other services related to Site and Application activity as well as Internet use

By using the Sites or Applications, you expressly agree to allow Google to process personal data under the conditions and for the purposes outlined above.
