Off-the-shelf approach
The off-the-shelf approach offers plan members a predefined or personalized portfolio, called a lifecycle path. A lifecycle path is a ready-made portfolio of investments tailored to the investor's risk tolerance.
As a plan sponsor, the lifecycle paths allow you to:
- Simplify and automate changes to investments
- Make sure that plan members' asset distribution is aligned with their investment horizon
- Help employees choose their investment instructions
Predefined lifecycle paths
We have 3 sets of predefined lifecycle paths designed by our investment experts to meet your plan members' needs:
- Progression path – Target retirement age
- Progression path – Target retirement date
- Desjardins Sustainable path – Target retirement date (made up of responsible investment funds)
We also offer 4 target date fund series that function like lifecycle paths and are managed by renowned external investment firms:
- BlackRock® LifePath® Index target retirement date funds
- Fidelity ClearPath® target retirement date funds (primarily active management)
- Fidelity ClearPath® Institutional target retirement date funds (active and passive management)
- Fidelity ClearPath® Index Plus Institutional target retirement date funds (primarily passive management)
Personalized lifecycle paths
We can also design personalized lifecycle paths based on your needs and preferences as a plan sponsor. You can choose the following features:
- Lifecycle type (based on age, number of years until retirement or target retirement date)
- Amount of time between asset allocation changes
- Risk profile
- Underlying investments
