The committee strives to meet the needs of our members and clients and the communities we serve, ensuring it applies a strategic direction throughout our various components. It oversees asset management, our financial position and organizational issues, and makes sure our activities are managed properly.

Johanne Duhaime

Senior Executive Vice-President, Technology and Organizational Performance

Senior Executive Vice-President, Technology and Organizational Performance
As Senior Executive Vice-President, Technology and Organizational Performance, Johanne Duhaime leads a team of 15,000 people working in operations development, security, IT, data and analytics, project delivery, and government, legal and regulatory affairs. Her commitment to delivering value-added transformation projects goes hand in hand with her drive to build dynamic, effective teams and optimize operations across Desjardins Group.
Johanne sits on the board of directors of Aviso Wealth, one of Canada’s largest independent wealth management firms. She also serves on the board of directors for Payments Canada, a key player in Canada’s economy and financial system. She holds an Executive MBA from the Université du Québec à Montréal and accreditation from the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD) where she acts as a director and brings her important contribution to the boardroom. She has more than 40 years of IT experience in major Quebec organizations—the most recent being the 5 years she spent in the role of Executive Vice-President, Technology and Projects for Desjardins Group.
Her teams were honoured in recent years by Réseau Action TI for their innovation projects in digital transformation and were recognized for the promotion of the use of the French language in IT. In 2019, she was named Chief Information Officer of the Year for the Public Sector by the Information Technology Association of Canada.
Johanne gives back to the community and has actively supported charitable causes for many years. In 2023 and 2024, she served as honorary co-chair for Desjardins’s fundraising campaign.
Antoine Avril

Executive Vice-President and Chief Risk Officer

Executive Vice-President and Chief Risk Officer
Antoine Avril is Executive Vice-President and Chief Risk Officer for Desjardins Group. He has also served on the Desjardins Group Management Committee since March 2023. Antoine guides the overall risk management strategy and ensures that financial and non-financial issues are strictly monitored in accordance with regulatory standards. His leadership is the cornerstone of Desjardins Group’s resilience and sustainable performance.
Antoine’s reputation for being thorough, keeping a cool head and thinking strategically precedes him. He inspires trust and encourages teams to find practical solutions by rallying them around a common goal—to adopt a forward-looking posture on risk that promotes strategic business decisions and strengthens Desjardins Group’s resilience.
Before joining Desjardins Group in 2010, Antoine held management positions at several financial institutions in Europe and Canada. During his time at Desjardins, he has worked in various strategic roles including Vice-President, Major Accounts and Real Estate Financing, and Vice-President and Chief Credit Risk Officer.
Antoine has a master’s degree in integrated risk management from the London School of Economics and Political Science and another in management sciences from Université Paris Dauphine-PSL. He also serves on the board of directors of the Global Risk Institute (GRI), an organization recognized worldwide for its role in advancing risk management practices in the financial sector.
Jean-Yves Bourgeois

Executive Vice-President, Business Services

Executive Vice-President, Business Services
As Executive Vice-President, Business Services, Jean-Yves Bourgeois is responsible for providing support to Desjardins Business centres and caisses and delivering services that measure up to the needs of businesses of all sizes. As well as bringing leadership to specialized teams that work in capital markets, global trade, venture capital and employer solutions, he oversees operations for Desjardins International Development and the EspaceProprio ecosystem. His executive division employs more than 4,500 people across Canada and in other countries.
Jean-Yves joined Desjardins Group in 2010. He has an MBA from McGill University and an extensive background in business financing. Over the course of his career, he has developed quality relationships with entrepreneurs, investors and partners in a range of sectors including technology, biotech, telecommunications, industrial products, agri-food—and, of course, finance.
For many years, Jean-Yves has demonstrated his commitment to social and cooperative values through his involvement with various organizations and causes in Canada. As well as serving on the board of directors of the Montreal Council on Foreign Relations, he rolls up his sleeves for mentorship programs that help young entrepreneurs get into networking and build mutual connections with business owners.
Marie-Huguette Cormier

Executive Vice-President, Member/Client Experience, Cooperation and Human Transformation

Executive Vice-President, Member/Client Experience, Cooperation and Human Transformation
Marie-Huguette Cormier is the Executive Vice-President of Human Resources.
In this role, she oversees the development of HR practices and strategies that help the Desjardins caisse network and Desjardins Group’s business sectors and support functions carry out their business objectives.
She previously served as Executive Vice-President for Marketing, Communications and Cooperation. Marie-Huguette has been part of the Desjardins team for 35 years and has many feathers in her cap, having expanded her passion for communication to marketing and business development. She’s known for her inspiring, people-focused leadership style, for creating engaging environments, and for channeling efforts to tackle even the toughest challenges.
She’s a top-level fencer, having represented Canada at the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, and 4 years later at the Games in Seoul. She was named female athlete of 1988 at Université Laval, where she got her MBA the following year.
Marie-Huguette has been engaged in amateur sport for nearly 30 years. She’s also committed to the fields of education, health, business and promoting female leadership. In April 2025, she was appointed vice-president of the Canadian Olympic Committee Board of directors. From 2021-2024, Marie-Huguette was board chair of the Port of Québec and from 2011 to 2012, she served as chair of the board of the Fédération des chambres de commerce du Québec.
Chantal Gagné

Since joining Desjardins Group in 2007, Chantal Gagné has made her mark as a unifying leader who thinks strategically and communicates with ease.
Chantal was appointed Executive Vice-President, Life and Health Insurance in September 2025. She also holds the position of President and Chief Operating Officer, Desjardins Financial Security.
As part of her role, she oversees all life and health insurance operations, including:
- Individual insurance
- Group benefits and retirement savings
- Independent distribution, including partner networks and IDC and Worldsource entities
Chantal leads a sector that serves more than 5 million members, clients and partners across Canada and employs more than 4,500 people. She has proven her ability to rally teams around an overarching goal—to become the Canadian leader in member/client experience.
Chantal has a degree in actuarial science from Université Laval. She held a number of strategic positions in property and casualty insurance and life and health insurance before she was appointed Executive Vice-President, Life and Health Insurance.
Chantal is actively involved in the industry and serves on a number of boards, including the LIMRA Canadian Executive Roundtable and the board of directors for IDC Worldsource.
As part of her work in the community, Chantal sits on the board of directors for the Dr. Clown Foundation. She is also a member of the major donors’ circle for United Way in the Quebec City and Chaudière-Appalaches region.
Daniel Grossi

Executive Vice-President, Information Technology

Executive Vice-President, Information Technology
Daniel Grossi was appointed Executive Vice-President, Information Technology in 2025. The mandate of the Information Technology Executive Division is to provide a simple and distinctive experience that delivers high-quality, efficient, stable and secure IT solutions and services to meet the needs of members and clients. This team of more than 8,000 people works closely with all segments of Desjardins Group to stay connected to IT business needs across the organization.
Since joining Desjardins in 2016, Daniel has held various management positions, including Vice President, Operations Services Management and Vice-President, Digital and Omnichannel Capacity IT Division. He brings a wealth of experience working in IT operations management, infrastructure services, project delivery, strategic planning and transformation to the table. His extensive expertise in cross-sector services—including infrastructure and operations across the entire Desjardins ecosystem—is also a great asset.
Daniel graduated with honours from McGill University with a bachelor’s degree in commerce. He also completed the Operations Leadership Program at Queen’s University and the High Potentials Leadership Program at Harvard University.
Since 2019, Daniel has also been the figurehead for a friendly neighbourhood soccer competition to raise funds for local school foundations.
Di-Thai Hua

Executive Vice-President, Operations

Executive Vice-President, Operations
As the Executive Vice-President of Operations and a member of the Desjardins Group Management Committee, Di-Thai Hua is responsible for cross sector operations, procurement and Desjardins real estate services.
Di-Thai is committed to member and client service. Since joining Desjardins in 2009, he’s made it his mission to give members and clients the best possible experience. Di-Thai stands out for the energy he brings to his work, his vision and his focus on execution. He’s made his mark on different teams in the organization, including the Accès Desjardins Division, where he oversaw the strategic evolution of the division’s client relations centres while maintaining a focus on accessibility for the members and clients they serve. He’s no stranger to the caisse network either, having worked for several years as assistant general manager at Caisse Desjardins de Granby – Haute-Yamaska, where he helped steer a transformation initiative and contributed to excellent results that exceeded expectations. He also spent time in the Procurement and Administrative Services Division, where his work to consolidate relationships and optimize processes made him a highly effective representative for Desjardins with suppliers and partners.
Di-Thai has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the Université de Sherbrooke. He held management positions at several world-class companies prior to joining Desjardins.
Di-Thai plays an active role in the community and is committed to the principles of equity, diversity and inclusion. He also takes a great interest in the fields of education and healthcare. As well as serving as honorary chair of the Grande Soirée de la Fondation Paul-Gérin Lajoie several times, he previously sat on the board of directors for the Fondation du Cégep de Granby and the Fondation de l’Hôpital Charles-Lemoyne. He’s currently a board member for the Martin-Matte Foundation.
Nathalie Larue

Executive Vice-President, Personal Services and Community Life

Executive Vice-President, Personal Services and Community Life
In her role as Executive Vice-President, Personal Services and Community Life, Nathalie Larue is responsible for all personal banking activities. Her mandate involves overseeing networks, caisses and client relations centres, mortgage brokers and representatives, and savings, payment and financing products. As well as steering the digital transformation initiative, Nathalie provides support for the caisses’ boards of directors and makes sure they have what they need to uphold sound governance practices in carrying out their duties.
Nathalie’s executive division employs more than 15,000 people, all of whom are dedicated to delivering a distinctive experience for members and clients while remaining mindful of financial performance and risk management.
Nathalie has an MBA from HEC Montréal. She brings to the table more than 30 years of experience in the Quebec financial sector and has held various positions of influence, in which she was responsible for overseeing large, multidisciplinary teams. Before joining Desjardins Group, she worked for a major consulting firm and guided many large organizations through strategic transformation initiatives.
Nathalie has been a member of the Desjardins Group Management Committee since 2017. Her achievements include spearheading a major marketing transformation project. She has earned a reputation as a leader who brings people together. Her strategic vision and communication skills have been instrumental in shaping Desjardins Group.
One of the ways Nathalie gives back to the community is by serving as co-chair of the group that campaigns to raise funds for Tel-Aide Montréal, an organization that offers people free, confidential active listening services to support their mental health and well-being. She has also served as vice-chair for the Desjardins Cares and Shares campaign, helping to raise over $15 million for organizations that fight poverty and exclusion, and encourage stay-in-school initiatives across Canada.
Valérie Lavoie

Valérie Lavoie joined Desjardins in 1994 and held various strategic positions before being appointed President and Chief Operating Officer of Desjardins General Insurance Group in 2019. At that time, she also joined the Desjardins Group Management Committee as Executive Vice-President, Property and Casualty Insurance.
Valérie’s ability to rally teams at Desjardins around a common goal—to always do what’s best for members and clients—is one of her stand-out strengths. In her previous roles, Valérie gained valuable actuarial and distribution experience.
Today, she heads an executive division that employs more than 7,000 people, serves 3.8 million clients across Canada and has chalked up more than $7 billion in gross written premiums.
Valérie is a driver of change in the property and casualty insurance industry. She also serves as the Deputy Chair for the Insurance Bureau of Canada, and she sits on the boards of the International Cooperative and Mutual Insurance Federation and Équité Association.
She is also involved in her community. One of her 2 sons is on the autism spectrum, and she’s dedicated to raising awareness for the cause.
Valérie is a graduate of Université Laval and has bachelor’s degrees in biology and actuarial science.
Alain Leprohon

Executive Vice-President, Finance

Executive Vice-President, Finance
Alain Leprohon’s role as Executive Vice-President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer of Desjardins Group involves overseeing finances for all of Desjardins, including the finance teams that support the business sectors and caisse network in executing business strategies, optimizing financial performance and meeting regulatory and financial reporting requirements. Alain also has functional responsibility for the Desjardins Group Retirement Committee and the Desjardins Security Fund. His executive division includes the Treasury Division and the Economic Studies Division. Since joining Desjardins in 2002, Alain has held a number of positions in finance. His first role was Head of Finance and Compliance at Caisse centrale Desjardins, which included providing support to the treasury department.
He then directed finance for Business Services and served as the finance representative for Desjardins Securities. In 2012 he was appointed Vice-President of Finance for Desjardins Group where he monitored Desjardins Group’s financial performance and supervised financial reporting, capital management, taxation and financial governance.
Over the course of his career, Alain has also taught finance in the joint MBA program offered by the Université de Montréal and HEC Montréal and has given many talks on current issues in finance.
Alain is a member of the Université de Montréal’s audit and finance committee. He also serves on the board of directors of the Montreal Children’s Hospital Foundation, demonstrating his commitment to the next generation.
Alain is a Fellow of the Ordre des comptables professionnels agréés du Québec (CPA) and has been a member of this professional order since 1989. He also has a degree in business administration from HEC Montréal.
Sébastien Vallée

Executive Vice-President, Wealth Management

Executive Vice-President, Wealth Management
Sébastien Vallée has been Executive Vice-President, Wealth Management, and a member of the Desjardins Group Management Committee since 2025. He also chairs the boards for Desjardins Global Asset Management (DGAM) and for Guardian Capital Group, a global investment management firm that is majority owned by Desjardins.
He is also a board member for Aviso, a leading Canadian wealth management provider and strategic partner of Desjardins.
He oversees all of Desjardins’s wealth management operations across Canada. It’s a large business sector that includes wealth management distribution activities, asset management, the development of investment solutions, and trust services.
Sébastien Vallée is responsible for wealth management distribution activities—including Desjardins Signature Service, Desjardins Private Wealth Management, Desjardins Securities Brokerage and Desjardins Online Brokerage—representing $142 billion in assets under administration, along with product manufacturing activities totalling $161.9 billion in assets under management.
He also oversees Desjardins Global Asset Management (DGAM/Guardian), which has $288 billion in assets under management, and trust activities with $467 billion in assets under custody.
Sébastien Vallée has been with Desjardins for over 25 years. He held various strategic positions before being appointed Vice-President, Investment Solutions, in 2023. Over the course of his career, he’s helped Desjardins gain industry recognition for the sale, innovation and performance of its structured products and investment funds.
An authentic, effective and unifying leader, he is recognized for his strategic vision and ability to build lasting trust-based relationships with his business partners.
He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in finance from Université Laval and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
Actively involved in his community, Sébastien Vallée is an ambassador for Centraide Québec et Chaudière-Appalaches and supports numerous causes focused on youth, health, and sports.
