Youth

Caisse Desjardins du Nord de Laval has a long tradition of involvement with local youth. This is why it is so enthusiastic about the massive concerted effort being made by all Desjardins components toward youth outreach.

Caisse Desjardins du Nord de Laval is proud to support:

  • Young Intern Officer Program
  • Gala des Curés – $1,000 in scholarships to recognize achievement by students of l'École Curé-Antoine-Labelle
  • Youth dividends (school and youth accounts)

In 2021, the caisse awarded $40,000 in scholarships to 24 student caisse members for vocational training and CEGEP and university studies.

Young people are a core priority of the caisse. In 2021, a significant part of caisse donations and sponsorships were allocated to people age 30 and under.

Caisse Desjardins du Nord de Laval also contributes to the Desjardins Foundation, which gives out $500,000 in scholarships each year.

Personal Finance: I'm in Charge - An educational program for young adults

School caisse and Finance Lab

To help introduce children to sound savings habits at an early age, Caisse Desjardins du Nord de Laval actively supports educational school caisse services at elementary schools in Fabreville and Sainte-Rose.

The caisse also mentors the École secondaire Curé-Antoine-Labelle student caisse (now called the Finance Lab). The Finance Lab is an educational project that helps high school students learn about managing a mini-caisse.

Youth advisor

Caisse makes every effort to put measures in place to meet the specific needs of young people getting an education or starting out in their career.

That's why a caisse advisor has been exclusively assigned to help our youth clientele and is specialized in meeting their needs.
