Features
This savings account, designed specifically for RRSPs, lets you put money aside for short- and medium-term projects. It gives you security and flexibility to build up savings and access your funds.
To open a RRSP - Savings Account, you must first register for a Registered retirement savings plan (RRSP) issued and administered by Desjardins Trust. You also need a Desjardins everyday account.
Transactions
Deposits, withdrawals, transfers permitted at all times. However, you'll have to pay taxes on your withdrawals and you'll lose contribution room. Withdrawals can reduce government benefits and credits that are based on income.
Overcontributions are subject to a tax of 1% per month.
Automatic transfers Plan
Make automatic transfers into your account. You decide how much and how often (minimum of $25 per transfer).
