The Desjardins Web Panel is made up of Desjardins Group members and clients who agree to take part in online surveys on various subjects related to savings and investment, while abiding by these terms and conditions for participation.

Eligibility

To be eligible for and remain on the Desjardins Web Panel, you must:

  • Personally be a member or member and client of Desjardins
  • Be a Canadian resident
  • Have reached the age of majority in your province of residence
  • Have a valid personal or work email address

Terms and conditions

The Fédération des caisses Desjardins du Québec (hereafter the "Fédération") reserves the right to modify these participation conditions at any time and without prior notice. Registered panellists will be notified of any changes.

These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of the province of Quebec and are subject to their interpretation. Any conflict, dispute or claim arising from or in connection with participation in the Desjardins Web Panel must be submitted to and is subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of the province of Quebec. Therefore, the courts of the province of Quebec have exclusive jurisdiction over any lawsuits, actions or proceedings arising from or in connection with participation in the Desjardins Web Panel.

In these terms and conditions, the term "panellist" means any individual registered for the Desjardins Web Panel.

Protection of personal information

Respecting the confidentiality of personal information and privacy is a key component of Desjardins Group's commitment. For the purposes of the Desjardins Web Panel, the Fédération has tasked the Qualtrics polling company with collecting personal information from panellists by means of a registration form. This information will be conveyed to the Fédération for the purposes of confirming panellist registration, identifying target groups for participation in online surveys, and analyzing the answers to online survey questions.

When you take part in a Desjardins Web Panel survey, be assured that your individual answers remain confidential.

Email address

We are committed to responsible management when it comes to your email address and to preventing any misuse of this information. We collect your email address solely for the purpose of inviting you to take part in the surveys and to keep you informed about various subjects related to the Desjardins Web Panel. email addresses are not sold or shared with other organizations, except the Qualtrics polling company tasked with developing and hosting the Panel registration form and the various survey questionnaires.

We would like to remind you that information sent by email is not secure. We therefore recommend that you refrain from including confidential information in email messages.

Panellist's commitment

Panellists undertake to:

  • Answer the Desjardins Web Panel survey questions truthfully and objectively.
  • Personally register for the Desjardins Web Panel only once.
  • Keep their postal and email addresses accurate, complete and current.
  • Answer the survey questions by the deadline set for each survey they agree to participate in. After the deadline, the questionnaire will no longer be taken into account by the Desjardins Web Panel. The panellist will not be considered a participant in the survey. In certain cases, panellists may be asked to complete the survey within a few days. This will be clearly indicated in the invitation sent by email.

Studies, questionnaires, and any multimedia documents submitted to panellists by the Desjardins Web Panel are and will remain the sole property of the Desjardins Web Panel. Therefore, panellists shall undertake to refrain from copying, distributing or disclosing them to third parties for whatever reason, with or without compensation.

Voluntary termination

You can decide to leave the Desjardins Web Panel at any time without prior notice by writing to us. You will no longer be invited to participate in Panel surveys. The personal information we have about you will be kept only as long as is required for the specified purposes. When it is no longer necessary for the purposes specified or, notably, to meet legal requirements, it will be destroyed or rendered anonymous.

Right to exclude

You must quit the Desjardins Web Panel as soon as you are no longer eligible or no longer comply with the terms and conditions for taking part in the Panel. The Fédération reserves the right to exclude any panellist who does not comply with the terms and conditions for taking part in the Desjardins Web Panel or whose behaviour goes against Desjardins Web Panel objectives.

Target groups

The Fédération reserves the right to establish target groups, based on the information provided by the panellists, in order to send them specific surveys.

Termination of the Desjardins Web Panel

The Fédération reserves the right to terminate the activities of the Desjardins Web Panel without notifying panellists beforehand. In such a case, panellists will be notified in writing of the termination of activities. They will no longer be requested to participate and their personal data gathered for the purposes of the Desjardins Web Panel will be permanently erased.

Disclaimer

Insofar as the laws of Quebec permit, the Fédération and its directors, officers, employees and representatives are not responsible for losses and damages directly or indirectly incurred through the panellist's participation in the Desjardins Web Panel, and from the unauthorized reproduction or use of the information provided through this participation, including special or consequential damages to third parties.

Moreover, the Fédération cannot be held liable for any damages incurred by actions taken based on information provided through the panellist's participation in the Desjardins Web Panel, or for any damages resulting from the disclosure of personal or confidential information we have received by email.

The Fédération disclaims all responsibility with respect to the malfunction of any computer component, software or communication line, with respect to the loss or lack of network communication or any faulty, incomplete or incomprehensible transmission or transmission deleted by any computer or network, which could limit or prevent any person's opportunity to participate in the Desjardins Web Panel, in the surveys, or access to the general terms and conditions and any other document relating to the Desjardins Web Panel. The Fédération also disclaims all liability for any damage or loss that could be caused directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, by the downloading of any Web page, software, etc., and by the transmission of any information pertaining to participation in the Desjardins Web Panel.

The Fédération shall not be held liable with respect to lost, misdirected or late documents, including any postal service related problem or any problem for any reason whatsoever with the Web site, including any damage to a participant's computer.

The Fédération does not guarantee that information provided for the purposes of the Desjardins Web Panel will meet any specific needs; that once copied or downloaded, usable elements will be error free, will not cause technical or other problems, nor that these errors or problems will be corrected; or that this site or the servers that host it do not contain any computer virus, Trojan horse, or other potentially hazardous element.

Copyrights and trademarks

The Fédération is the owner of trademarks related to certain products and services mentioned in connection with participation in the Desjardins Web Panel whether in the form of names, images, logos, or icons. These trademarks are protected under trademark laws and regulations.

The questions and information provided in connection with participation in the Desjardins Web Panel are protected under copyright laws and regulations. It is prohibited to copy, reproduce, publish or distribute this information, in whole or in part, except for non-commercial or personal use. In such a case, you must mention the source and ensure that the elements reproduced have not been altered in any way.

Written consent must be obtained from the Fédération prior to using the questions and information provided in connection with participation in the Desjardins Web Panel and prior to any use of the trademarks. To obtain this authorization, please contact us. Any non-compliant use of said questions, information or trademarks could constitute a violation of applicable copyright and trademark laws, and violators may be subject to legal action.

Confidentiality and privacy

Protecting the confidentiality of your personal information and privacy is a key component of Desjardins Group's commitment. For the purposes of the Desjardins Web Panel, the Fédération des caisses Desjardins du Québec (hereinafter the "Fédération") has tasked the Qualtrics polling company with the collection of personal information from persons registering for the Desjardins Web Panel and from the surveys. We have put a number of measures in place to protect the confidentiality of this personal information.

This policy covers both personal information transmitted when you register for the Desjardins Web Panel and provided when you answer the Desjardins Web Panel surveys.

Purpose of collecting information

For the Desjardins Web Panel, we collect, use and disclose personal information for the following purposes: to send you specific surveys, to invite you to share your opinions and experiences on subjects related to savings and investment, and to link your registration profile to the Fédération's internal databases. Your personal information cannot be used or disclosed for any other purposes without your prior consent, unless these new purposes are required by law. Your personal information will never be sold or disclosed other than in compliance with applicable laws.

Consent

We need your consent to collect and use your personal information. By voluntarily providing us with the required personal information during your registration, you give us that consent.

Panellist participation in surveys is always voluntary. Panellists give their consent by taking part in a survey. Panellists are always free to decide whether or not to participate in a survey and whether or not to answer a given question and may stop answering the survey at any time. Any personal information generally collected during a survey will not be disclosed to a third party.

Limits on information use, disclosure and conservation

Your personal information gathered with respect to the Desjardins Web Panel will not be used or disclosed for purposes other than those for which it was collected, unless you give your consent or the law requires or permits it. The personal information we have about you will be kept only as long as is required for the specified purposes. When it is no longer necessary for the purposes specified or, notably, to meet legal requirements, it will be destroyed or rendered anonymous.

Accuracy of information

We rely on you to keep your information current, for example, by updating your email and postal address or other contact information. If you have evidence that the personal information in your file is inaccurate, we will review or correct it. Personal information relating to participants' opinions will not be considered inaccurate and will not be modified or corrected. You may update your information at any time by contacting us.

Security measures

We protect your personal information, using appropriate security measures, against loss, theft and any unauthorized consultation, transmission, reproduction, use or modification. The personal information contained in your file can be accessed only by those who have the authority to do so and who are qualified to read it, and only when necessary to carry out their duties.
