Weโ€™re proud to announce the acquisition of Pulse Financial Services Limited, trading as Entrepreneurs Financial Centre (EFC) Zambia, by NMBZ Holdings. Itโ€™s a significant milestone in the journey of an institution that we helped establish in 2009โ€”with Global Affairs Canada and our investing partnersโ€”and have supported throughout its growth.

Since its inception, EFC Zambia has become a cornerstone in financing micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), a sector that drives economic growth and accounts for nearly 88% of employment in Zambia.

Access to finance remains a major challenge in Zambia, where nearly 90% of MSMEs struggle to obtain formal credit. EFC Zambia has worked to close this gap by offering tailored financial solutions and supporting entrepreneurs in formalizing and structuring their businesses. Over the years, EFC Zambia has empowered thousands of entrepreneurs to grow their businesses, create jobs and strengthen community resilience.

The institution sets itself apart with its client and employee share-ownership program, innovative products promoting womenโ€™s empowerment and home ownership as well as numerous accolades, including being an A-rated microfinance institution in Zambia.

Completing this transaction reflects our ability to build and develop sustainable financial institutions that transform local economies and advance financial inclusion. It also underscores the importance of strategic partnerships in creating lasting development solutions.
