Desjardins postpones rollout of its new credit card management system
Montreal, April 13, 2026 – Desjardins is postponing the rollout of its new credit card management system. This allows Desjardins to effectively address members’ and clients’ concerns and to provide better support. Credit cards, including those with a solidarily liable or jointly and severally liable cardholder, will remain fully functional for primary and additional cardholders. Cardholders will be able to continue using their cards as usual. The estimated credit used amount on members’ and clients’ credit cards, which is updated in real time whenever a transaction or payment is made, will also be available on the AccèsD home page in a few weeks.
Over the past few weeks, many cardholders have expressed dissatisfaction with changes to modernize the credit card management system. Desjardins believes that it’s essential to take the necessary time to ensure that the upcoming changes will better reflect member and client expectations.
In the interim, Desjardins will:
- Analyze the concerns and comments shared by members and clients
- Assess improvements to the credit card management experience based on the capabilities of the new system, with the goal of limiting impacts on members and clients
- Provide better support to members and clients affected by the change
A powerful, scalable system in the long term
Transitioning to a new credit card management system will ensure long-term sustainability and prevent the existing system from becoming obsolete. This change will lay the technological foundations needed to support new features in the coming years—something that cannot be done with the current system. With the new system, cardholders will be able to do things like dispute a transaction themselves on AccèsD or even add a card to their digital wallet immediately without waiting to receive the physical card first in the event of a loss or theft.
