In response to feedback from its members and clients, Desjardins will be improving its credit card balance display
Montreal, March 25, 2026 – Desjardins Group is aware that the recent changes to how credit card balances appear in AccèsD has caused confusion for some members and clients. Desjardins has listened to their feedback and is responding with improvements to the way balances are displayed. These updates are intended to give cardholders more comprehensive and intuitive information, while providing access to the numbers they’re used to having.
The digital environment is constantly evolving. Desjardins, like all organizations, is required to modernize its systems to accommodate these technological changes. To continue meeting the needs and expectations of its members and clients, Desjardins is transferring its credit card processing to a new system based on industry components.
Updates coming in the next few days
Desjardins is improving the credit card details screen in both the mobile and online versions of AccèsD. These updates will be rolled out in the next few days. The Desjardins mobile app will gradually be updated in the App Store and the Google Play store.
New real-time estimated credit use amount
The crédit utilisé estimé amount will be added to the colour-coded bar so cardholders can more easily gauge how much credit they’ve used. This amount will reflect all the transactions and payments on the card in real time, whether or not they’ve been posted. Cardholders are accustomed to seeing this amount. Desjardins will be providing it for information purposes only to give them a more complete, real-time picture of their credit use.
The crédit utilisé estimé amount can fluctuate, especially if the cardholder makes transactions where the final amount is confirmed at time of billing, like hotel bookings or paying for gas at the pump. It is not the official balance.
Clearer information, all in one place
When cardholders access the detailed credit card view by selecting their card on the AccèsD home page, the following information will now be shown at the top of the page:
- Posted balance: The official balance, which only includes transactions that have been posted to the account.
- Authorized unposted transactions: Recent purchases, payments and transactions that are being processed and have not yet been posted to the account.
- Crédit utilisé estimé
- Available credit
- Colour-coded bar: A real-time visual representation of the cardholder’s estimated used credit and available credit.
Posted balance still displayed for enhanced stability
The balance displayed on the AccèsD home page will still be the balance including posted transactions only. It provides stable, reliable information that doesn’t fluctuate in response to temporary authorizations or processing delays.
Overdraft transfers
As announced to affected members several weeks ago, the overdraft transfer feature will be discontinued on Saturday, March 28. This feature is not supported by the new credit card management system. Members are encouraged to use alternate solutions, such as a personal line of credit, if it makes sense for their financial situation. Desjardins employees are available to support affected members and help them find an appropriate solution.
