Services offered:
Account opening
We want to welcome you to Canada and help you settle in with our offer for newcomers. The welcome offer includes an account with free unlimited transactions for 1 year.
Savings-Life Insurance (after account opening)
- Group insurance that provides death or cancer coverage for Desjardins members.
- You just have to answer a few questions to find out if you're eligible.
Credit card application
- No credit history required to qualify for a Desjardins credit card.
- You must be a member of a Desjardins caisse and have an account there. You must also demonstrate that you intend to settle in Canada. Credit cards are issued and credit limits are set based on the information received and will depend on the applicant's credit risk.
Safety deposit box
You will receive a basic safety deposit box, free for 1 year, for your documents and valuables.
International transfers
Make secure international money transfers (up to $5,000 per day) online from anywhere and any time.
Foreign currency
The Canadian dollar (CAN$) is used in Canada. We have foreign currencies available upon request.
Savings
Get a special rate on non-redeemable term savings to grow your savings.
Car loan
You can finance a car with no credit history.
Mortgage
You can buy a home under certain conditions.
Life and health insurance
Meet with a financial security advisor or life and health insurance representative to assess your needs and get more information about life and health insurance.
Property and casualty insurance
Free auto and home insurance quotes. When you apply for auto insurance, we'll recognize your previous driving experience in your home country.
