Alain Leprohon

Executive Vice-President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer

Alain Leprohon is Executive Vice-President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer of Desjardins Group. He oversees finances for all of Desjardins, including the finance teams that support the business sectors and caisse network in executing business strategies, optimizing financial performance, and meeting regulatory and financial reporting requirements. He also has functional responsibility for the Desjardins Group Retirement Committee and the Desjardins Security Fund. His executive division includes the Treasury Division and the Economic Studies Division.

Since joining Desjardins in 2002, Alain has held a number of positions in finance. His first role was Head of Finance and Compliance at Caisse centrale Desjardins, which included providing support to the treasury department. He then directed finance for the Business Services sector and acted as the finance representative for Desjardins Securities. In 2012 he was appointed Vice-President of Finance for Desjardins Group. In that role, he was in charge of monitoring Desjardins Group's financial performance and overseeing financial reporting, capital management, taxation, and financial governance.

Alain has also taught finance in the joint MBA program offered by Université de Montréal and HEC Montréal and has given many talks on current issues in finance.

Alain is Secretary-Treasurer of the Executive Committee of the Fédération des chambres de commerce du Québec. Committed to our youth, he's also a member of the board of directors of the Montreal Children's Hospital Foundation.

A Fellow of the Ordre des comptables professionnels agréés du Québec (CPA), Alain has been a member since 1989. He also has a degree in business administration from HEC Montréal.
