Fempresa: our new project in Bolivia to increase the economic autonomy of women entrepreneurs

July 21, 2022

In collaboration with local partners, including several organizations defending women's rights and promoting social entrepreneurship, this project will be carried out over a period of five years, mainly in the regions of La Paz and Cochabamba in Bolivia.

We will act on two key dimensions:

  • Strengthen indigenous women's entrepreneurial capacities, their ability to make informed financial decisions and their knowledge of digital tools.
  • Improve their access to financial products and services from local financial institutions.

Local expertise

Leveraging our network of national experts, working with a large network of local organizations, and adopting methodologies specific to Aboriginal realities are the success factors we are counting on to complete this major initiative.

"We feel privileged to have the opportunity to work with women entrepreneurs in Bolivia. We intend to make a concrete difference by supporting the performance and competitiveness of these resilient and courageous women. We are convinced that we will also learn a great deal from them," emphasizes Marcela Peña-Vega, DID program manager.

Our intervention will have a direct impact on the development of the affected regions, particularly on poverty reduction, gender equality and the creation of decent jobs and economic growth.
