Healthy Enterprise — Elite Certification

The Healthy Enterprise — Elite certification is awarded by Bureau de normalisation du Québec (BNQ). Through the prevention, promotion and organizational practices contributing to health in the workplace, it aims to maintain and foster sustainable improvement in the health of individuals in the workplace.

The program helps businesses take action in the 4 areas of activity known to have a significant impact on employee health:

  • Employee lifestyle
  • Work-life balance
  • Workplace
  • Management practices

Caisse certification

The caisse became accredited in June 2012 to respond constructively to absenteeism issues. It set up a Health and Wellbeing Committee made up of employees in each area of the caisse.

The committee is responsible for establishing an action plan, ensuring there is at least one action for each facet of the standard. It assesses the actions taken annually by surveying the entire workforce.

Caisse strong points

BNQ conducts quality management audits annually and recertification audits every 3 years.

Following are the main strong points and improvements noted at our last recertification audit conducted on June 20, 2018:

  • Management showed an ongoing commitment to supporting the steps taken by committee members to meet the health and wellbeing needs and concerns of caisse personnel.
  • Committee members demonstrated their commitment and participation in the organization, promotion and participation of the actions and activities detailed in the action plan.
  • Management worked to ensure the sustainability of steps taken, For example, it provided the Board of Directors with a mission statement and the name of the person jointly responsible.
  • The personnel demonstrated involvement, by proposing and organizing health and wellbeing-related initiatives that were supported and promoted by both management and the committee.
  • The survey was adapted to enable the committee to identify sources of work-related stress, and questions were added to assess the personnel's degree of satisfaction with the actions taken.
  • Overall, the personnel had a very positive assessment of the health and wellbeing initiatives offered to them and management's openness to meeting their needs.

The certification is an important element in ensuring the attraction, mobilization and retention of personnel.
