Features

  • Covers expenses incurred for healthcare and emergency services in case of accident or illness
  • Covers insureds during their visits to Canada and their side trips outside Canada
  • Offers a choice of coverage amounts up to $150,000

Visitors to Canada Insurance gives you access to a wide range of assistance services for as long as your contract remains in force. You must call 1-888-875-3228 as soon as an illness or accident occurs. If you’re unable to contact us yourself, you must have someone call us on your behalf within 24 hours of the accident or start of the illness.

To be eligible for Visitors to Canada Insurance, you must be between the ages of 15 days and 84 years. You must also be one of the following:

  • A Canadian not covered by a provincial health insurance plan
  • A newcomer awaiting provincial health insurance plan coverage
  • A foreign student with a study visa
  • A foreign worker with a work visa
  • A visitor to Canada (super visa applicant or non-applicant)
  • Coverage amounts: $25,000, $50,000, $100,000, $150,000
  • Deductibles: $0, $100, $1,000, $5,000
  • What’s covered:
    • Hospital care
    • Medical care and services (physician, surgeon, etc.)
    • Care and services prescribed by a physician (medications, x-rays, etc.)
    • Care provided by health professionals (chiropractor, podiatrist, etc.)
    • Dental care
    • Transportation costs (ambulance, repatriation, etc.)
    • Living expenses
    • Certain death-related expenses

The premium depends on the:

  • Age of each insured
  • Duration of the insured trip
  • Coverage amount selected
  • Deductible selected

The premium is paid in a lump sum.
