Youth

Desjardins has a long tradition of involvement with local youth. This is why Caisse Desjardins de Châteauguay is so enthusiastic about the concerted effort being made by all Desjardins components toward youth outreach.

Your caisse is proud to support the following projects or organizations:

Support for the youth-run cooperative

Caisse Desjardins de Châteauguay also contributes to the Desjardins Foundation, which awards over a half million dollars in scholarships each year.

School caisse

To help introduce children to sound savings habits at an early age, Caisse Desjardins de Châteauguay actively supports the educational school caisse services at the following schools: De la Rive, Harmony, Laberge, Mary-Gardner, Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption, Saint-Jean-Baptiste, Saint-Jude, Saint-Willibrord and Trois-Sources.

2024 scholarship contest

  • 2 scholarships of $500 for vocational school students
  • 10 scholarships of $850 for CEGEP students
  • 12 scholarships of $1,250 for university students

Young Intern Director Program

Are you a caisse member between the ages of 18 and 30 who's looking to add real-life professional experience and accomplishments to your CV? Take part in the life of Canada's largest financial cooperative as a director on the Board of Directors at the caisse.

What is the program all about?

  • Sit on a Board of Directors as an observer.
  • Promote the socio-economic development of the community.
  • Have an influence on the decisions of a financial cooperative.
  • Contribute to the development of a strategic and business plan and oversee implementation.
  • Access to a training program on financial institution management.
  • Get initiated to analyzing ethical and deontological issues.
  • Get on-the-job training as a director on the Board of Directors.
