Cashback based on the amount of your mortgage

Get up to $2,000 cashback when you buy a new sustainable home that meets Novoclimat, ENERGY STAR® for New Homes or LEED® Canada standards.

The program is aimed at members taking out a Desjardins mortgage to buy a new construction that meets the following environmental certification standards recognized by Desjardins:

Note that environmental certification standards for new homes certify whole condo buildings, resulting in certification for each unit, if applicable.

You are eligible for the program when you buy a new home from a builder or developer and the home meets environmental certification standards recognized by Desjardins.

If you are building your own home, you may be eligible if environmental certification programs allow for it.

Eligible homes include single-family detached homes, row houses and semi-detached homes, as well as condo units and residential rental properties with 4 units or less and where the owner is an occupant.

The Sustainable Home Program applies to minimum financing of $125,000 for the purchase of a property and $10,000 for renovations

The Sustainable Home Program advantages are conditional upon a 5-year commitment to keeping your mortgage with Desjardins.

In compliance with the National Housing Act, cash rebates may not be factored into the calculation of your down payment.

As a complement to the Sustainable Home Program, the major mortgage insurers have developed great programs for homebuyers who need mortgage insurance.

Canadian Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC)

The CMHC Eco Plus program offers a 25% refund of the total premium, and a premium refund for a longer amortization period (if applicable).
