EdCan Network: Tips to help teachers and school workers talk about sustainability

It's not always easy to talk about the environment in class—especially figuring out where to start! By tackling one issue at a time, integrating them into other lessons or organizing meetings with other classrooms around the world, teachers and school workers will have a better chance of reaching students. We help the EdCan Network produce "The Facts on Education" fact sheets, which democratize research on important topics and empower education professionals across Canada.

CFER network: Working with schools and organizations across Quebec

Every year, students travel across the province in the Sustainable Development Caravan to present an environmental awareness activity to participating schools and organizations. The presentations show how we can make a difference by taking action on recycling, energy efficiency and water conservation.

The Centres de Formation en Entreprise et Récupération (CFER) network offers a program that supports sustainability and helps at-risk youth between the ages of 15 and 18 to develop their independence and become engaged citizens and productive members of society. The centres offer a variety of services, including sorting and dismantling electronic equipment, recovering clothing and recycling wood.

The Desjardins Foundation offers scholarships to support young people studying at these centres.
