Denis Dubois - Biography

Executive Vice-President, Property and Casualty Insurance

Denis Dubois is Executive Vice-President of the Property and Casualty (P&C) Insurance Executive Division. He is also the President and Chief Operating Officer of Desjardins General Insurance Group (DGIG)'s subsidiaries.

His mandate is to maintain the organization's position as a leader in the Canadian P&C insurance market by ensuring the successful performance of its portfolio, which currently stands at more than $4 billion in annual gross written premiums.

Under his leadership, several thousand employees across Canada work together to offer excellent service to members and clients. His executive division includes dedicated functions for the development of P&C insurance products and solutions, distribution (excluding Desjardins Insurance in Quebec) and claims.

Mr. Dubois joined Desjardins Group in 2003 and held a series of senior management positions within DGIG before being appointed to his current positions. After heading up business development and sales for The Personal—DGIG's group insurance subsidiary—he was appointed Vice-President of Claims, and then Vice-President of Market Development and General Manager of Ontario, Atlantic and Western Regions. He then took on the role of Chief Integration Officer and managed the integration of State Farm Canada into Desjardins Group in 2015. Before his current appointment, Mr. Dubois was Senior Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer of DGIG's subsidiaries.

Mr. Dubois holds a bachelorís degree in Actuarial Science from Université Laval. He successfully completed the examinations to become a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries and of the Casualty Actuarial Society.
