Application to open an account – Instructions

If you do not go to your caisse within 12 months to activate your account, account funds will be returned to the financial institution from which they originally came.

This application is for you if:
  • you are in the process of immigrating to Canada, and you are not yet a resident of Canada
  • you will arrive within the next 12 months
Time required to fill out the application:
Approximately 5 minutes. (For security purposes, your application form will be automatically terminated after 30 minutes of inactivity.)
Follow-up and processing:
  • A Desjardins advisor will contact you within 72 hours (business days).
  • Once in Canada, you must go to the caisse specified by the Desjardins advisor to finalize the opening of your account.
Documents required to complete the application:
  • Your passport.
Recommendations:
Your application cannot be saved; please print a copy for your records before submitting it.
