The Eco-friendly Statement Challenge

Your participation in the Eco-friendly Statement Challenge1 made the difference.

144,863 trees planted!

Throughout the 3 years of the Eco-friendly Statement Challenge, a grand total of 141,764 members took the challenge, proving how popular it was.

As a result, a total of 144,863 trees were planted, i.e. 145% of the targeted objective. We want to thank every Desjardins member for this most impressive response.

Through the challenge, Desjardins replanted the equivalent of 183 football fields. Furthermore, with 141,764 members switching to the online statement, we save 5 million sheets of paper each year.

Earth Day

Our Earth Day commitment

As an active partner of the Earth Day program, Desjardins agreed to help slow climate change by planting 100,000 trees by the end of 2009.

The 144,863 trees planted will absorb nearly 416 tons of greenhouse gases (GHGs) from the atmosphere each year. Planting the trees will also reforest regions, improve wildlife habitats and beautify landscapes.
