Caisse Desjardins de la Rivière-du-Nord pays out over $5 million in member dividends

On April 25, 2022, Caisse Desjardins de la Rivière-du-Nord held its annual general meeting online. It was an opportunity for members to go over the caisse's financial results for the previous year. They then had 4 days to vote on member dividends.

The plan for the distribution of surplus earnings that members voted to accept amounted to total dividends of $5.7 million. In all, $5,039,374 was paid out as member dividends and $661,706 will go to the Community Development Fund.

Here are some examples of what we did:

  • $500,000 from the caisses in the Laurentians to the Fondation de l'Hôpital régional de Saint-Jérôme for the purchase of a second MRI machine.
  • $300,000, in partnership with the GoodSpark Fund, to support the creation of the Quartier général de l'audace, entrepreneurship lab at Cégep de Saint-Jérôme.
  • $10,000 for the comic book festival organized by the City of Prévost.
  • And there's lots more!
