About the caisse

The mission of the Caisse populaire Desjardins de la Haute-Gatineau is to contribute to the improved economic and social well-being of people and groups in its community:

• by offering high-quality, secure and profitable financial services to its members
• by playing an active role in economic and social projects to improve community well-being

In 1992, Caisse officers began planning to move the Caisse head office in rue King to a new location. After much consultation and based on studies made by the Fédération, the officers finally chose a building located at 100 rue Principale Sud in Maniwaki. After many preparations, the move to the new building finally began on August 26, 1994.

Since then, the Caisse has undergone several transformations. In 1996, the Caisse assets rose to $100 million. On April 30, 1997, the Bouchette Service Centre closed. On February 12, 1999, the Caisse joined forces with the Desjardins Business Centre - Les Hautes, which rented space in the Caisse offices.

In 1999, the Caisse celebrated its 50th anniversary.

In January 2003, the Caisse merged with the Caisse de Bois-Franc to become the Caisse populaire Desjardins de la Haute-Gatineau. As at December 2003, it had 10,755 members and 39 employees and held $139,247,678 in assets.

In March 2007, the Grand-Remous Service Centre became an automated service centre (ATM installed).

Finally, in April 2010, it joined the Desjardins Business Centre - Outaouais.

In September 2013, the service centre in Bois-Franc closed.

In December 2013, the Messines service centre was converted to a automated service centre (ATM was installed).

Today, the Caisse populaire Desjardins de la Haute-Gatineau has 2 service centres in addition to its head office in Maniwaki.
