Every year, we invite our members to actively take part in the caisse's democratic life by answering the call for applications to fill openings on the board of directors.

Member dividends

Member dividends are a reflection of our cooperative difference. And they're one of the advantages of being a caisse member! More specifically, individual member dividends are paid to all members who qualify. There are now 2 kinds to get you even more: product dividends and volume dividends.

Product dividends

You are eligible if you are an individual member (business members are not eligible for this dividend) who had at least 1 eligible Desjardins product in each of the 4 following product lines in 2018:

  • Accounts
  • Cards, loans and credit
  • Savings and investments
  • Insurance

Volume dividends

Volume dividends are calculated for each eligible member—individual or business—in proportion to their use of certain products and services in 2018.

Dividend amounts

Product dividends: $50 if you hold at least 1 product in 4 of the product lines (if you’re 30 years or younger, 1 product in 3 lines).

Volume dividends:

  • 3.65% on interest received on all term savings (TS) and registered plans (ROEs) in term savings
  • 0.74% (outstanding) Desjardins Funds and other funds
  • 0.78% (outstanding) MLGIs
  • 2.50% on interest paid on business loans and lines of credit
  • 1.964% on interest paid on consumer loans and personal mortgages
