The caisses of Greater Sudbury give $50,000 for the construction of the Saint-Gabriel Villa

The caisses populaires Desjardins of Greater Sudbury are proud to support the fund-raising campaign for the construction of the St.Gabriel Villa with a donation of $50,000.

The new 90,000 square foot health care facility will be built in Chelmsford and, starting 2011, will accommodate 128 residents. "The region's care needs, whether short- or long-term, are always critical. That's why the caisses populaires Desjardins, who are true to their mission of supporting Greater Sudbury community organizations, are part of this project," stated Caisse populaire Vermillon general manager Jean Bisson.

In addition to easing the ongoing long-term care crisis, the St. Gabriel Villa will create 160 jobs. "The caisses populaires strongly believe that this project will greatly contribute to the Subdury community's development, be it on an economic, community or social level," added Mr. Bisson.

The caisses populaires Desjardins took advantage of Cooperation Week, held from October 11 to 17, to announce their donation. "One of Desjardins Group's values is community spirit, and there's no doubt that a donation to the St.Gabriel Villa is in line with this value," explained Caisse populaire des Voyageurs manager Jean-Marc Spencer.
