Caisse populaire Vermillon has a long tradition of involvement with local youth. This is why it is so enthusiastic about the massive concerted effort being made by all Desjardins components toward youth outreach.
The Young Intern Officer program gives young students ages 18 to 30 the chance to complete a practical one-year internship as a non-voting member of the Board of Directors. This program helps a young person become familiar with the role of an administrator of a financial cooperative by participating in all the meetings and discussions as well as in certain training activities offered to the elected officers.
Caisse populaire Vermillon also contributes to Desjardins Foundation, which awards over a half million dollars in scholarships each year.
To help introduce children to sound savings habits at an early age, Caisse populaire Vermillon actively supports the educational school caisse services at the following schools: Sainte-Marie d'Azilda, École publique Franco-Nord d'Azilda, École Alliance Saint-Joseph de Chelmsford, École Pavillon de l'Avenir de Chelmsford, École Saint-Etienne de Dowling and École Saint-Joseph d'Espanola.
