Youth

The Caisse Desjardins du Secteur public de l'Estrie has a long tradition of involvement with local youth. This is why it is so excited about the massive concerted effort being made by all Desjardins components toward youth outreach.

Caisse Desjardins du Secteur public de l'Estrie also contributes to Desjardins Foundation, which awards over a half million dollars in scholarships each year.

The Ralliement social de Desjardins pour les Sherbrookois

Your Caisse invites you to play an important role in implementing a big developmental project for youth. During April 2005, each of the caisses in Sherbrooke conducted a survey on community involvement and social projects for youth. After this consultation, 64% of the members who attended the different meetings decided to support educational projects, while prioritizing activities that make the most of employability and entrepreneurship.

Young people show they want to take action with Desjardins

During the past year, several thousand teenagers in local public high schools were encouraged to take action to succeed. Getting exercise during school activities, thinking about how to succeed, expressing how they want to be a positive influence in their world - these are a few of the actions that assembled the young people in a broad popular movement, Mission Possible, that aims to improve their well-being.

On June 3, 2006, as part of a big Mission Possible recognition event, nearly 1,000 young people enthusiastically celebrated their desire to take action at the "Change your world, take action" night.

As part of the Ralliement social de Sherbrooke, all the cooperative force of Desjardins, along with other prominent partners, supports the future of our young people.
