Financial services available to youth

The caisse offers young people products and services adapted to each stage of their lives to help them carry out their plans.

See the Desjardins section for students. It's packed with information!

The caisse partners with local schools to offer school caisse service to all young savers. Each year over 2,500 students at 22 elementary schools benefit from the service, which enables them to accumulate savings and become independent, responsible and competent in managing their savings.

Youth dividends

The caisse pays thousands of dollars in dividends to eligible school caisse members each year.

Each year, the caisse launches a scholarship program for young people attending high schools and postsecondary schools in the area it serves.

In 2017, $20,000 was awarded to students at end-of-year scholarship galas organized by educational institutions. It's a great way to support the educational development of our community and encourage young people in their academic careers.

Distribution of scholarships awarded in 2017

  • 5 high schools received $1,500 each to be awarded to selected students: Jean-Raimault, Jeanne-Mance, Marie-Rivier, La Poudrière and Collège Saint-Bernard
  • Centre de formation professionnelle Paul Rousseau received $2,500.
  • Cégep de Drummondville received $10,000.

Each year a number of students who are members of our caisse receive a scholarship from Desjardins Foundation, which seeks to promote and support the training of high school and postsecondary students.

The value of each scholarship is $1,500 for undergraduate students, $3,000 for master's students and $10,000 for Ph.D. students, for all disciplines combined.
