Job shadowing internship program

Caisse Desjardins du Haut-Saint-Laurent works directly with local high schools to encourage kids in the community to stay in school and introduce them to the job market. To do this, we've implemented a job shadowing internship program for these schools.

Each year, the caisse receives students from Arthur-Pigeon School and Châteauguay Valley High School. Selected students have the opportunity to spend a day at the Caisse Desjardins du Haut-Saint-Laurent head office.

The job shadowing internship in a professional environment lets young people to discover various trades in the cooperative, learn about working conditions, follow company rules and habits, and evolve within a team and work environment.

These internships also help build the interns' professional and interpersonal skills. Integrating in a company also allows them to better orient their career choices.

Finance Lab

Caisse Desjardins du Haut-Saint-Laurent encourages the personal and professional development of young students in the area through its cooperative enterprise of financial services, operated entirely by student volunteers from Chateauguay Valley Regional High School.

The Finance Lab provides financial services for the school's students and staff, as well as:

  • introduces students to sound savings habits
  • provides an enriching experience
  • helps students develop skills related to running a board of directors of a cooperative enterprise

Finance Lab mission

  • Encourage members to practice saving
  • Provide basic services like deposits and withdrawals
  • Promote cooperation

Just like Caisse Desjardins du Haut-Saint-Laurent's involvement in its community, the Finance Lab is a unifying project that will certainly have a positive impact.
