The Desjardins Youth Work Experience program

The main goal of the Desjardins Youth Work Experience program is to help young people become more employable in the future by giving them a chance to learn new skills through:

  • a first stimulating experience in the job market or a first rewarding work experience
  • training about attitudes on the job and the basics in job search techniques (mock interviews, writing a resumé, etc.)
  • an awareness-raising workshop on cooperation and financial management

The program also:

  • makes studies relevant by giving young people real-life work experiences, so they get a glimpse of potential career paths and are encouraged to pursue their studies
  • gives young people a sense of belonging to their region and prevents an eventual exodus
  • promotes networking between young people and local businesses and organizations
  • contributes to the development of participating businesses and organizations by helping them hire an extra employee for the summer
  • supports non-profit organizations
  • allows young people to enjoy a rewarding experience as members of the community

Coopérative Jeunesse de services program

The Coopérative Jeunesse de Services is made up of young people ages 14 to 17 who were recruited by the staff of Maison des jeunes du Plateau Mont-Royal for the summer. The project organizers support the group of cooperators throughout the summer by helping them find and carry out small residential and commercial jobs.

School caisse

To help introduce children to sound savings habits at an early age, Caisse Desjardins du Plateau-Mont-Royal supports the educational school caisse program at the Saint-Pierre-Claver, Saint-Joseph, Saint-Louis-de-Gonzague and Paul-Bruchési schools.

We've updated the school caisse, and it's now available online!

Go to www.schoolcaisse.com to discover a wealth of information, such as deposit calendars, various activities, important notices, and more.

The school caisse website has so much to offer:

  • For children: get initiated to sound money management and learn about cooperative values, all while having fun.
  • For parents: get access to support to help your child through the process of financial education.
  • For teachers: be prepared with turnkey educational materials that adheres to the Ministère de l'Éducation's program.
