Caisse Desjardins de Mercier-Est–Anjou has a long tradition of involvement with local youth. This is why it is so enthusiastic about the massive concerted effort being made by all Desjardins components toward youth outreach.
Caisse populaire Desjardins d'Anjou also contributes to Desjardins Foundation, which awards over a half million dollars in scholarships each year. Desjardins Foundation allows a great number of youth to access technical, vocational or higher education. It rewards excellence and encourages students to persevere until they receive their diploma. With a view to introducing children to sound savings habits at an early age, Caisse Desjardins de Mercier-Est–Anjou actively supports the educational school caisse service at local schools.
Young members receive a $10 dividend if they made at least 7 deposits to their school caisse account. This is a great way to recognize their efforts and encourage their sense of responsibility.

Non-profit organization that encourages elementary school students to discover the arts through a number of cultural activities. The province's largest cultural committee has been welcoming 26,000 spectators annually since 1994. By attending all shows during elementary school years, a student will have been exposed to 21 productions and have had unparalleled contact with professional artists.
The Caisse supports École Saint-Justin, which is part of the Brundtland green movement - External link. This link will open in a new window. (site in French only). For the past 15 years, this movement has been raising awareness among young people about sustainable development. The project is the result of a partnership between Centrale des syndicats du Québec (CSQ) and RECYC-QUÉBEC. Its purpose is to teach students to become eco-responsible citizens and to take eco-friendly action on a daily basis, such as reuse and recycle.
