Desjardins has a long tradition of involvement with local youth. This is why Caisse Desjardins de La Nouvelle-Beauce is so enthusiastic about the massive concerted effort being made by all Desjardins components toward youth outreach.
An enhanced youth program for our young members!
In 2007, the Caisse's officers decided to create an enhanced youth program to provide more support to young people who are heading towards the job market, financial independence and all forms of success.
Today, our caisse focuses more than ever on youth to ensure that tomorrow's leaders are in good financial health. This program was reviewed and the most important elements for this clientele were kept. Many procedures were changed or improved to enhance performance and profitability and give our young members the best support throughout their financial life.
The Caisse Desjardins de la Nouvelle-Beauce scholarship program is exclusively for young members of the Caisse. It provides financial support to young people. The Caisse is proud to support the development of expertise and knowledge, job creation and the social involvement of our future leaders.
To help young people pursue their studies, Caisse Desjardins
de La Nouvelle-Beauce and Caisse Desjardins de
Beauce-Centre will award 30 scholarships totaling
$25,000, which will be drawn among local young caisse members.
The draws will take place at our youth event on Tuesday, June 9, 2020, at Centre Caztel de Sainte-Marie.

We're pleased to introduce the recipients who attended our youth event on Tuesday, June 11, 2019, at Centre Caztel de Ste-Marie. Caisse Desjardins de La Nouvelle-Beauce and Caisse Desjardins de Beauce-Centre awarded 30 scholarships totalling $25,000. For five years now, $90,000 has been disbursed to 80 young scholarship winners.
Thanks for participating and congratulations to the winners!
5 scholarships of $100 (high school)
1 scholarship of $500 (vocational)
6 scholarships of $1,000 (college/CEGEP)
8 scholarships of $1,500 (university)
To thank the students who attended, the caisses drew 5 pairs of tickets for the Festival d'été (Bell Signature Zone) a value of $650. The winners were: Tommy Gagné of St-Elzéar, Gabriel Poulin of St-Joseph, Marguerite Pomerleau of Ste-Marie, Shayne Courtney of Ste-Hénédine and Frédérique Pomerleau of Ste-Marguerite.
Also during the youth event, Caisse Desjardins de La Nouvelle-Beauce presented one winner per primary school in the area with a $100 gift certificate for the purchase of school, sports or technology items. Congratulations to the young people who have developed good saving habits during the year by making at least 7 deposits.
It should also be noted that École L'Aquarelle de St-Bernard won the grand prize "Journée cadeau Desjardins" because its students were the most involved in the school caisse during the year.
Student members applied for financial aid from Caisse Desjardins de La Nouvelle-Beauce. As the caisse's donation and sponsorship program doesn't accept applications for individuals, the caisse held a draw for 2 grants of $500 each among people who applied for financial aid during the year. The grants were awarded to young people who excel in academics, sports or as part of a cultural or humanitarian project.
During Co-op Week, the 2 scholarship recipients were announced.
Congratulations to Dayle Vachon, a 13-year old entrepreneur in sports equipment installation. With this financial support, he'll be able to purchase equipment to grow his young company.
Congratulations also to Marc-André Fortin, a student at Université Laval who participated in a 3-week international basketball competition which took place in Toronto, Finland and Italy.
