On November 15, 1927, 16 founding members created the first caisse populaire in the Maskoutain area: Caisse populaire de Saint-Hyacinthe. Some 20 years later, it had 2,000 members and close to $650,000 in assets.

In 1948, Caisse populaire de La Providence opened its doors, followed by Caisse populaire de Dessaulles in 1951, Caisse populaire de St-Joseph de Saint-Hyacinthe in 1956 and Caisse populaire de Bourg-Joli in 1957. The following decades saw the arrival of new technology. As of 1972, Caisse populaire de Saint-Hyacinthe members' transactions were carried out by the caisses' integrated system. The first ATM started operating on June 15, 1983. In 1996, AccèsD Internet services were available to members. Your caisse is now available anywhere, any time.

On January 1, 2019, Caisse Desjardins de la Région de Saint-Hyacinthe merged with the caisses Desjardins de Val-Maska and Du Plateau maskoutain.
