Contribute to the improved economic and social well-being of people and groups within the compatible limits of its field of activity:

  • by developing an integrated cooperative network of sound and profitable financial services, on an ongoing basis, that are owned and administered by the members, as well as a network of complementary financial enterprises, all performing well in their respective fields of activity, controlled by the members.
  • by teaching democracy, economics, solidarity and individual and collective responsibility, especially to members, directors and employees.

On July 1, 1998, the Caisse Desjardins de Chomedey was created by a merger of the Caisse Populaire Saint-Maxime de Chomedey and the Caisse Populaire Saint-Norbert de Chomedey.

The Caisse Populaire Saint-Maxime de Chomedey was founded on April 27, 1947 by Doctor J. Edouard Samson. Located in Abord-à-Plouffe (today called the Chomedey district), it was originally called the Caisse Populaire de l'Abord-à-Plouffe. On April 2, 1964, it changed its name to the Caisse Populaire Saint-Maxime de Chomedey.

The Caisse Populaire Saint-Norbert de Chomedey was founded on September 30, 1963 by Clément R. Raymond, an office manager.
