A brief history of Caisse Desjardins du Centre de Lotbinière

Caisse Desjardins du Centre de Lotbinière is the result of the January 2017 merger of Caisse Desjardins du Cœur de Lotbinière, Caisse populaire Desjardins Pointe-Platon de Lotbinière and Caisse Desjardins St-Agapit-St-Gilles.

Its territory includes 12 out of the 18 municipalities in Lotbinière.

  • On March 5, 1940, Caisse populaire de St-Flavien was founded by a group of members who were mostly farmers.
  • In October 1999, Caisse populaire de St-Flavien merged with Caisse populaire de Laurier-Station and Caisse populaire de Joly and became Caisse populaire Desjardins du Centre de Lotbinière.
  • In October 2002, Caisse populaire Desjardins du Centre de Lotbinière merged with Caisse populaire de Dosquet and kept the name Caisse populaire Desjardins Centre de Lotbinière.
  • On January 1, 2007, Caisse populaire Desjardins Centre de Lotbinière merged with Caisse populaire Desjardins St-Apollinaire et de Tilly and changed its name to Caisse Desjardins du Cœur de Lotbinière.
  • In 2009, the St-Apollinaire point of service became the head office. This newly-built service centre housed all general management employees in addition to many advisors and agents from all business segments.
  • In June 2014, the caisse transferred-in operations from the Dosquet, Joly, St-Flavien and St-Antoine-de-Tilly service centres.
  • On January 1, 2017, Caisse Desjardins du Cœur de Lotbinière merged with Caisse populaire Desjardins St-Agapit-St-Gilles and Caisse populaire Desjardins Pointe-Platon de Lotbinière and changed its name to Caisse Desjardins du Centre de Lotbinière.

  1. Caisse populaire Desjardins Pointe-Platon is the result of the merger of Caisse populaire de Ste-Croix, Caisse populaire de St-Édouard and Caisse populaire d’Issoudun in January 2000. In January 2002, Caisse populaire Desjardins Pointe-Platon merged with Caisse populaire de Lotbinière and kept the name Caisse populaire Desjardins Pointe-Platon. In June 2014, the caisse transferred-in operations from the Issoudun and Lotbinière service centres.
  2. Caisse populaire St-Agapit-St-Gilles is the result of the merger of Caisse populaire de St-Agapit and Caisse populaire de St-Gilles in March 2002.
  3. Caisse populaire Desjardins St-Apollinaire et de Tilly is the result of the merger of Caisse populaire de St-Apollinaire and Caisse populaire St-Antoine-de-Tilly in October 2000.
