Short history of Caisse Desjardins de Gentilly-Lévrard–Rivière du Chêne

Caisse Desjardins de Gentilly-Lévrard–Rivière du Chêne is the result of the merger of Caisse Desjardins de Gentilly-Lévrard and Caisse populaire de la rivière du Chêne in January 2015.

  • On January 30, 1933, Caisse populaire de St-Édouard de Gentilly was founded by a group of members, including parish priest F.-X. Letendre.
  • On March 1, 2000, Caisse populaire de Gentilly merged with Caisse populaire Desjardins de Lemieux. The new caisse kept the name Caisse populaire de Gentilly. The Lemieux Service Centre closed on September 1, 2009.
  • On January 1, 2004, Caisse populaire de Gentilly merged with Caisse populaire de Manseau and became Caisse populaire Desjardins de Gentilly.
  • On January 1, 2009, Caisse populaire Desjardins de Gentilly merged with Caisse populaire de St-Pierre les Becquets and kept the name Caisse populaire Desjardins de Gentilly.
  • On January 1, 2013, Caisse populaire Desjardins de Gentilly merged with Caisse populaire Desjardins de Lévrard and changed its name to Caisse Desjardins de Gentilly-Lévrard.
  • On January 1, 2015, Caisse Desjardins de Gentilly-Lévrard merged with Caisse populaire Desjardins de la Rivière du Chêne (Lotbinière) and became today's Caisse Desjardins de Gentilly–Lévrard-Rivière du Chêne.
  • On March 3, 2017, the caisse closed 2 service centres: Sainte-Cécile-de-Lévrard and Parisville.
  • On March 15, 2019, the caisse will close 2 service centres: Sainte-Sophie-de-Lévrard and Leclercville.
