Involvement in the community

The caisse understands the challenges and issues facing its members. With their support, it can provide its fellow citizens with valuable help regarding initiatives aimed at common betterment and the advancement of society.

Your caisse supports local and regional initiatives in various areas.

Solidarity with the community

Your Caisse expresses its solidarity with the people of the community through the financial and humanitarian support it provides. This cooperative aspect is what sets us apart from other financial institutions. By supporting the various community organizations and associations, we are able to embrace and fulfil our social mission.

The Caisse is present in all spheres of activity: economic development, community and humanitarian services, culture, education, and sports and leisure.

The Community Development Fund serves to redistribute a portion of the cooperative's surplus earnings to the community. Following a proposal by the board of directors, during the annual general meeting, members decide what portion of the surplus earnings will be paid into the community fund. Through their caisse, members can support causes that are important to them.

Members who sit on the board of directors manage the community fund. Every year, they report on the fund at the annual general meeting.

Launch of the television series "Les Trésors de la Petite-Nation"

The Caisse de la Petite-Nation and the Centre local de développement (CLD) Papineau are pleased to launch a 13-episode television series called "Les Trésors de la Petite-Nation", produced by Productions Quoi. The project will be an important source of advertising and contribute to the social and economic well-being of the community as well as tourism development in the region.

Each 30-minute episode, co-hosted by watercolour artist Jean-Yves Guindon and seasoned performer Danielle Grégoire, will allow viewers to discover 3 hidden treasures in the Petite-Nation area, for a total of 40 cultural, recreational, agri-food and heritage sites.

You'll travel to Plaisance, Duhamel, Montebello and Saint-André-Avellin and savour irresistible meals at Solex Haitian Restaurant, extensively tour Petite-Nation on foot, horseback and in snowshoes, discover the shores of the Ottawa River, admire impressive Château Fairmont Montebello, discover chocolate maker ChocoMotive in Montebello, take a stained-glass course from Catherine Boisvert in Papineauville and more. Petite-Nation is full of places to discover, and the episodes will show you not only their magnificent scenery but introduce you to the residents who contribute to the area's vitality.

The series will air on TVA, TQS and Canal Vox in Fall 2009. Shot with 2 cameras, the lighting is warm and natural, with joyous, vivid colours reminiscent of Jean-Yves Guindon's paintings, all to give viewers the impression of being there in person.

"Les Trésors de la Petite-Nation" is a series depicting the beauty and joie de vivre of the area, presented by a solid, seasoned team in a picturesque, warm environment that will make you happy to discover it.
