Personal Finance: I'm in Charge educational program

Are you between 16 and 25? Want to take charge of your finances and make sound decisions as a consumer, student or worker? Personal Finance: I'm in ChargeTM is just what you're looking for.

You'll learn more about things that matter to you, such as:

  • budgets
  • financial services

Thanks to the collaboration of your caisse, free 2-hour group workshops are offered by Carrefour jeunesse-emploi d’Abitibi-Est. We take a dynamic approach that gets you involved. You'll interact through a variety of hands-on activities and exercises.

Settlement support services

Through its settlement support services, Carrefour jeunesse-emploi helps graduates ages 18 to 35 move to and settle in outlying regions. In addition to remote support, the CJE holds discovery days, whether one-on-one or in a group setting, to allow participants to discover or rediscover the attractions of the different regional county municipalities (MRC). Through its contribution to the program, Caisse Desjardins de l'Est de l'Abitibi supports economic growth in its community.

Youth service cooperatives

Every summer, Caisse Desjardins de l'Est de l'Abitibi sponsors youth service cooperatives in its territory, where youngsters between 12 and 17 start their own cooperative business to create their own jobs in their neighbourhood. The cooperatives provide many services to the community.

Desjardins Youth Work Experience program

Carrefour jeunesse-emploi d'Abitibi-Est and Caisse Desjardins de l'Est de l'Abitibi work together to give students between 15 and 18 years old their first paid and supervised jobs.

Scholarships

Caisse Desjardins de l'Est de l'Abitibi contributes to Desjardins Foundation, which awards more than half a million dollars in scholarships every year. The Caisse also pays out scholarships to secondary and post-secondary students.

School Caisse

With a view to instilling good savings habits in children at an early age, Caisse Desjardins de l'Est de l'Abitibi actively supports the educational outreach of the school caisse program in several local schools.
