Caisse Desjardins du Haut-Saint-Laurent works closely with local high schools to encourage students to stay in school and introduce them to the job market. As a result, it has set up a job shadowing internship program with them, receiving students from École Arthur-Pigeon and Chateauguay Valley Regional High School.
Selected students will complete a workday at the head office of Caisse Desjardins du Haut-Saint-Laurent. They will be introduced to various jobs at the caisse, learn about the working conditions, rules and routines and what it's like to be part of a team in a real-life and engaging work environment.
The internship is also designed to help students develop professional and interpersonal skills and to inform their future career choices.

The caisse is proud to bolster primary schools in their endeavours. We've formed a partnership with each of them to financially support innovative projects, contributing to the success and well-being of students.
In particular, we've supported projects such as the LÜ interactive whiteboard at École des Jeunes-Riverains, restoring Ormstown Elementary School's auditorium chairs and creating the sticker trail at Howick Elementary School.
In 2019, Caisse Desjardins du Haut-Saint-Laurent also donated our office furniture as part of modernizing our distribution network. The value of goods donated to schools is more than $32,000.
Several lectures have been organized for young people in our area to help them pursue their financial education. The goal is to make young people aware of savings, credit, overspending, and most of all, the importance of making a budget.
